Vasectomy Risks?

There are risks with everything. Surprised that anyone would do a vasectomy with you being so young! Anyway, my husband had his vasectomy 9 yrs ago and had no problems. That's the least they can do after you delivered your children. It's minor compared to what we go through in fact, my husband came out so soon, I thought he had changed his mind! Tell him to follow dr's orders and he'll be fine. Don't lift what ever the restrictions are because I know a cousin that almost hemorrhaged because he went back to his normal routine and ripped the stitches.

My husband had one a year or so ago and had no problems. He is a firefighter so he had to take a couple extra days off. You aren't suppose to do any major lifting for a week or so (from what we were told). He tells his friends it was not real painful just uncomfortable. I didn't even finish reading a People magazine before he was done. He was on the couch for a couple days but then up and moving just fine. You do want to make sure this is what you both want. We knew from he beginning we both knew we only wanted two kids so for us it was not a big discussion. I do not know of anyone who has successfully had it reversed.

My cousin had one and he just had to take it easy for a few days. Now, an interesting twist. My brother in law had one 7 yrs ago, after my sister and he decided 2 children was enough. Low and behold, 3 years ago (4 yrs after the surgery) they had their 3rd :) and yes, it's both their child lol. So, sometimes that can happen, though rare.

There are risks with any major surgery. However I don't know specific risks with a vasectomy. I do know that 2 of my friends husbands had one, and they are both fine. It took about 4 days for them to not feel any pain at all, and a month or so to get back to completely normal......almost like having a baby for a woman in my opinion. Just make sure this is what you both really want though. I had a girl, and a boy. After my son my husband had an appt but failed to show because he is a wussy....lol when my son turned 3, my husband more than I was ready for one more. I am now 25 weeks, and expecting my last the tie breaker another boy, and I couldn't be an happier. Not saying that you will feel the same way, but just sleep on it. Once it's done it's hard to reverse. Good Luck with your decision

There are always risks associated with surgery. You should discuss your concerns with your doctor and they will inform you of any risks.
