Bottle Nipples Affected by Cascade Dish Soap

Has anyone else ever experienced washing their Born Free (or any other BPA free bottle) nipple in the dishwasher, as directed only to find that the dish washing soap has significantly affected the nipple? My son has been super fussy with the bottle nipples lately and at first I thought it was because he's 4 months old and distracted by everything.. I tasted the nipples on my own and my throat started to itch/scratch and my tongue got tingly. Clearly the Cascade dish soap we have been using has ruined these nipples. I'm so upset about this...

Avent or Born Free Bottles???

I am due to have my 2nd baby in January and I can't decide which bottles to use. I will be breastfeeding as long as possible but will still need bottles. I used Avent with my 1st daughter and liked them (that was before the info on BPA came out). I was going to switch to Born free but Avent now makes BPA free. I am also concerned with which bottle will reduce gas the most. I just can't seem to make a decision - any suggestions???

Bpa-free, Spill Proof Child's Cup

I LOVE the Nalgene Grip-n-Gulp toddler cups. They're nearly unbreakable (at least my toddler hasn't broken one yet). However, they contain BPA. I'm wondering if any of you can recommend a spill-proof sippy cup that is as durable as the Nalgene cups and isn't a health risk to my 2-year old.

Plastic Bottles and Sippy Cups a No No??

Hi, A good friend of mine just told me that all plastic bottles, and sippy cups are no good for your baby. That the only good kind is "Born Free" or glass bottles. Also, that major brands have been banned in Canada? Anyone else no anything about this? This is the first I've heard of it. Apparently the plastic bottles are being attributed to cancer?? Any insight on this topic and it's relevance would be greatly appreciated. I have a little girl who is exclusively breast fed for the most part, BUT when she is left home with Daddy...

Constipated 11-Month Old (Sorry to Ask, but Need Suggestions :)

Hi there, Our little bundle of joy started on solid foods when she was 6 months old, but rejected all food except breast milk after a month or two, and only ate breast milk until fairly recently. I'm thrilled that she's eating now, but she has become increasingly more constipated since she started eating solid foods. I stopped her iron supplement and stopped feeding her carrots and bananas, which I read could cause constipation. She's eating lots of split peas and fruit, including plums and pear (all fresh, not jarred), which I read could...

Best Glass Baby Bottle?

I'm looking for the best glass baby bottle. With my last baby I used the Adiri Natural Nursers and I liked them...but they were pretty new on the market and they leaked to the point of frustration. So I'd like to try glass this time but want to be sure I get something that doesn't leak, doesn't cause excessive air intake, has a protective sleeve, and possibly can hook up to a Medela electric breast pump.
