My husband and I have been married for 7 years, we have a beautiful 4 1/2 year old but would love to have another child. We have been trying for over two years now and found out nine months ago that my husband has low motility, we have drained our saving on all of these initial tests as our insurance doesn't cover infertility. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there was anything natural that helped.

What can I do next?

my husband had low motility also. We did a few IUI's with no success. I had the HCG (dye) test done to check for any blockages. Finally, we focused on good health habits, diet and exercise and just got our minds off of trying to conceive. After about 9-10 months of trying, we got pregnant with my son in April of 2007. When he was 6 months old we started trying for #2 and this time I used a fertlity monitor and was pregnant two months later with our baby girl born April 2009!
Just keep trying, for us I don't think we really ever had a fertility issue, it was just pinpointing that tiny window of opportunity each month. Good luck!

Wow - I totally wish I'd have heard of the Creighton approach! We would have done that!!! I'd say, check that out :)

In our situation, we had miscarried our first - and long story, short - we had seven pregnancies - three 'take-home babies'. 3 m/c's and one full term still birth.

Through it all, we coped with infertility - read everything we could, attended seminars, did the infertility meds and insemminations - and truly, the first and last babies were 'natural'.

Just a couple of things - trying every OTHER day... paying VERY close attention to ovulation (I could never tell, since I was nearly 65 days between cycles without meds) - relaxing and trying NOT to think about what our mission was - and 'afterward', laying on my back in a 'fetal position'. Who really knows if any of the above helped, but all were part of the 'coaching' along the way.

And pray and Let God.

Blessings and have fun :)

I second the Creighton Method. It is also called Naprotechnology. Dr. Thomas Hilgers is the founder. He is based in Omaha, NE. His practice is called Pope Paul VI Institute, You can go on his web sight and find a physician near you. I have had troubles getting pregnant and staying pregnant. All the services with him were covered under insurance and I don't have fertility care insurance.
