Knowing your background or interests might be helpful to provide better responses. I, too, have been looking for ways to work from home. One thing I've learned is that the majority of opportunities rely on you establishing your own "pyramid" in order to make money. Most WFH opp's follow the old addage "If it's too good to be true, it probably is". I may be missing something as well, but I have done A LOT of research and have yet to find something which didn't require me to create my own extension of some company in order to make money (in which case, why did I need the "parent" company for anything other than a plan).
Most of my WFH friends do medical transcripting (for which you need to take a certification course) or scoping (for law offices) or sell products like Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Discovery Toys, Home Interiors, Creative Memories, Heritage Makers, etc. They love that they can control their time investment by choosing their availability for hosting or doing shows. But, they all insist that you need to really love the product you are promoting in order to be successful, and you need the buy-in and support from your husband whom you'll rely on to be with the kids while you "work".
I am pursuing Pampered Chef because I love their products, I enjoy cooking, I love to share good finds and pass on tips, and I love to socialize. Also, I know giving up an afternoon or evening during the weekend along with a weeknight a couple of times a month is acceptable to my husband and me, so being a consultant would be an easy way to earn money. In fact, the break from my stay-at-home life with the kids would be a treat! If I want to be ambitious I can encourage people to become consultants under my direction, but I don't need them to make money, and I can just manage myself.
So, again, look at what you like to do, what skills you have, discuss with your husband what sacrifices you think are acceptable, and what money you "need" to supplement his income in order to meet your financial goals. Then, look into opportunities to sell yourself based on those things whether it be your own business or working for someone else.
Good luck!
