Any suggestions on how to wash baseball caps? I've heard to use the dishwasher, the regular washing machine, hand-wash only. Please share with me what has or has not worked for you. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I've always washed mine in the washing machine, however never dry them in the dryer. Seems to work for my family and friends.

Hi,

My husband does it all the time. We bought some hat holders...the last couple we got at Wal-mart. They hold the hat's shape. Then he sprays them with Shout, and sticks them in the dishwasher. It is surprising how well it works. We usually try to do 3 or 4 at a time.

It probably depends on teh hat and how "structured" it is. My husband has several that I can just throw in the regular washer. To dry them I take a towel and bundle it up in the hat to get some of the structure back and let them air dry. They are fairly relaxed hats though. For soemthing more structured I would try the dishwasher where it is not tossed around so much.

I bought a plastic thing that the hat goes in and then I put it in the washing machine. It helps it to keep it's form.

You can buy what looks like a plastic cage that goes around the ball cap to keep it's shape when putting it in the dishwasher or washing machine.

I use the washing machine to clean my sons' hats. They're the more structured kind and I toss them in on their own (no plastic contraption) with the rest of the laundry. I reshape them and then air dry.

I have always used the dishwasher....no other dishes in the load of course :) For a while, I used one of those cap molds that you can by in the ironing/hanger/laundry area of Target/Walmart, but I lost it and haven't used it in a while. Hats turn out great either way :)

Good luck!!!!

They have a contraption at walmart, target ect... used just for washing baseball caps. Its kinda like a plastic cage that snaps over the hat that you throw right into the washing machine.

ALthough i have not done this myself, my husband's friend's wife soaked his hats in a bucket of water with oxy clean! I believe it would work, cause that stuff works for everything!! Good luck :)

I have to warn you that I used the dishwasher and the hot water bleached the cap. I have had good luck with the washing machine.

If you're dealing with sweat marks, scrub them out with baking soda and some water. Works awesome!

Top rack of the dishwasher and put them on a bowl to hold their shape.

Both my mom and I have run ours thru the dishwasher. Find a pot that is approx the size of the head. Strap on and put on top rack. Take out and air dry on the pot to keep shape. Works every time....and my hubby's hair can be VERY greasy and this works.
