Washing Hands

Do you have your kids (or do you, yourself) sing a song while washing their hands to make sure they are clean enough? I saw in the bathroom the other day at Bob Evans that said to sing "Old McDonald" and your hands would be good.

We always had our kids sing the ABC's while washing hands. What about you? Do you? or do you have your kids sing something while washing their hands? If so - what song?

Just for fun!!

What can I do next?

We sing "Top and bottom, top and bottom. In between! In between! Scrub 'em all together, scrub 'em all together. Now you're clean! Squeaky clean!"

My son's daycare taught them this song:

Back and forth, back and forth until there's bubbles
Back and forth, back and forth until there's bubbles
Top of the hand, top of the hand until there's bubbles
Top of the hand, top of the hand until there's bubbles
In-between, in-between until they're clean
In-between, in-between until they're clean
Twist the wrist around
Twist the wrist around
Rinse them off and now I'm done

(of course, reading type doesn't sound as cute as when a 3 year old sings it)

I think there was a commercial about singing Old McDonald a while back.. :)

Our daycare teaches the kids to sing "Row Row Row Your Boat" twice. I sometimes hear my daughter singing it!

I had my kids sing the ABC song twice. (Cause they can sing really fast! lol).
But eventually, they get a feel for how long it takes and quit singing.

Wash your hands, wash your hands, care-ful-ly, care-ful-ly
wash between the fingers, wash between the fingers
we're almost done, almost done.
but you have to sing 2x for it to be long enough :)

We also have a song for picking up toys:
Pick up all the toys, the toys, the toys.
Pick up all the toys we're God's girls and boys.
Let's hurry and start, let's all do our part.
Pick up all the toys we're God's girls and boys.

We sing the ABC's, I figure two birds, one stone. Helps her learn them, makes sure she actually washes them.

Just last night my daughter was in the bathroom with the door shut. Although we've never specifically asked her to sing the ABC song while washing her hands, all of a sudden we heard her singing it through the door! It was super cute. We have had my son do this in the past, so I guess we was imitating him. I've heard of doing the Happy Birthday To You song two times in a row, but we've always encouraged the ABC's for no reason in particular.
