Now that it is warming up I need to be able to take the kids out in the water. I would love to get a sling/wrap I can use to wear my 3 month old in and out of the water. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

What can I do next?

I simply wear my BabyHawk right into the water. Why buy another one that is just for water?

I don't think there is a huge variety available (I didn't find a lot when I was looking), but make sure it is breathable and if you can find one with a material that blocks rays, that would probably be a good investment. My friend loved hers and I wished I had one. Maybe for the next one! She also liked hers because she could wear her baby in the shower sometimes (obviously with the water lukewarm, off the baby directly, etc.). That will make your summer much more fun. :)

mamasmilk.com and other various websites sell a watersling with 70 plus SPF called SolarVeil. I've not tried it yet, but have really thought about it!

I had a Body Glove neoprene one that was styled just like a Baby Bjorn. I want to say I ordered it from One Step Ahead, but I don't remember. A friend gave me another one (didn't realize I already had one) that was the same style from a company called Aqua Tots. Because my second child was an October baby, I really didn't get a chance to try that one out -but my Body Glove one was AWESOME! The neoprene was insulating for the baby too in cool water.

My son is now a 4 year old fish, but I started swimming with him as soon as the weather got warm, so he was 4, almost 5 months. I wore him in a wrap through most of his infancy but NOT in the pool (it never occurred to me that that would be something I would want to do).

Anyway, I just want to say that I'm not sure I would have actually LIKED wearing him in the water. Most of the reasons for baby wearing don't really apply in the pool (what else do you need your hands free for? you can't swim laps with your baby strapped to your chest) Then, for your baby's experience, it's nice to be able to hold your little one, dip him under water, help him float, etc, none of which you can do with the baby attached to you. Also, I'd be concerned about finding a balance between a depth of water that's comfortable for me and baby simultaneously, you can't see babies face when she's strapped to you and she might not like what's going on if she can't see YOU.

Anyway, good luck with your search.
