Beyond the issue of an almost 5 year old only child, I need and OB. I am still new to the area, and know nothing about my choices. I have Pres salud. My last OB in Texas was wonderful. Man or woman doesn't matter to me. I just don't want some old poop who's gonna tell me, I'm fine when I feel I'm not. I also prefer a blunt doctor. Give it to me straight, don't play, I don't. That's the kind of Daoctor I want. So, if you know of one or five, I will check them all out. By the way, I do live in Rio Rancho, so the closer the better. Thank you in advance for your help.
I have a wonderful OB...I got him by accident 7 years ago when I was pregnant with my first child and since then have been very happy. When my husbands company swithched insurance companies I opted for private insurance just so I could have him as my doctor...He is located at the Main Presbterian in Albuquerque...His name is Julian Rowe. He is great!!

I had to respond to one of your responses. I had Dr. Rowe and absolutely hated him. He would always say I was fine when I felt something was off. I would never reccomend him to a friend or use him again myself.

I also went to the Women's Specialists of New Mexico at Coors and Montano, except my midwife was Michelle Pino. I agree with the other mother that they are wonderful here and I recommend you check them out.

My OB was Dr.Gough At Pres. Hospital. I know that's kind of far,but he was really really good. I told me everything I needed to know. Answered any ?'s I had honestly. I felt comfortable talking to him and his staff. I was pregnant with my first child. Hope this helps. Let me know.

My OB is Dr. Lori Saiz at Presbyterian Womens specialist of NM at the Riverside Plaza (about Coors and Montano). The entire staff at the office is excellent and she was great with everything. She explained pros and cons to everything she took the time to answer any questions we had. My husband and I were both very happy with her. I would suggest my CNM Janet Kirsch. She is a midwife with Presbyterian and she is just the kind of person you are looking for. She doesn't hold back, very straight forward and the nicest person you would want to meet. This clinic is located on the north bound access road of I-25 at San Mateo. If you are the least bit concerned about seeing a midwife instead of an OB, don't be. There is also an OB in the office and it is her job to back up the midwives. Seeing the midwife for routine visits and a natural delivery is cheaper for you and you still get the best care. And if you wind up needing special care or a C-Section (like I did), the OB is there for you. This was not my first OB or CNM I went to. I went through 3 before I found the right fit.
