hey girls, i have a request... i am the matron of honor for my best friend's wedding in october. we are doing a shower at the beginning of june, in just a few weeks, and i have no idea where to have it! my house is small and looks like a storage site for toys r us, so that's out. we need a "nice" place that is also not too expensive, and good for older ladies as well, as her grandmothers will be there. any ideas are greatly appreiciated-- this is my first time being a matron of honor, and i want to do a great job! thanks so much!

What can I do next?

House Warmings off of New Circle Rd. - Woodhill Shopping Center. It will accomodate a lot of people and great for all ages. Also, you don't have to pay a huge rental fee and have to have a contract with a catering co. They will let you bring stuff in. Good luck!!!!

Hi, I would suggest Murry's off of Harrodsburg Road past Man-O-War. I had my wedding recepition there 2 years ago and they were great. The food was great and reasonable. There are rooms that can be closed off for private parties. I would call them about opening and they can offer a private menu for your guest or you can order off the regular menu.

check out the Lyndon house on north Broadway. it is a bed and breakfast, and the owner, Terry, works with an amazing caterer. we were actually married there and it was amazing. Terry did all of the work, and we just showed up. the food was so good, that we have had people ask us for the caterers number. we were married at 10:30 am, so we had brunch. the bourbon french toast will send you strait to heaven. Lyndonhouse.com i think, but you can google it. also there are really beautiful gardens out back and a veranda you could have your shower on if it is nice out.

applebee's on nicholasville rd has a party room. you can reserve it for free. i've had several friends do showers there and they were nice. the party room is in the back and separate from the rest of the restarant so you don't have to worry about disturbing any one.
