Is it possible to get blisters on the vagina lips from a bad yeast infection? So now I will start from the beginning. About a week and a half ago, I got a weird rash on my arm, i ignored it for about 2 days, and then i got a terrible yeast infection. I saw the Dr. got a kenalog shot (not sure it I spelled that right), and a antihistamine pill to take for several days, as well as the yeast infection pill. after about 3 days the rash got better, and the yeast infection was not fixed by taking the 2 pills. (3 days apart) so the Dr. called another one in. The itching has gone away, it no longer hurts to go to the bathroom, but i noticed i still have discomfort when my underwear rubs. I was taking a bath tonight and notices the water hurt a little. ( 1 bath since all this started). after i got out of the Bath. I looked and there is a single blister. I have see them on kids, just not sure if i should go back to the Dr. or wait as I will take the other pill on Thursday for this medicine cycle. Any thoughts... I feel weird asking, but starting to worry.

P.S. have not been having sex for a while so I don't think that would be an added issue.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So the blisters were not blisters at all, but raw spots from having a yeast infection for soo long. I did go ahead and have the STD testing done, since it had been a few years. Thanks for all the responses. : )

I don't know, but wanted to point out that you might want to reduce the sugar in your diet and do a candida cleanse.

Feel better!!

Call your doctor and have it checked out. It could be as simple as an allergic reaction to the medicine. I hope you feel better soon.

If I were you, I would get a full spectrum STD test, just to feel safe. Not saying anything bad, but sometimes those viruses can lay dormant in your system with no outward side-effects for 10 years. I have never heard of a bad yeast infection causing blisters, but I have only every had 2 yeast infections, so I would not be the right person to ask. Good luck!!!

I think it's possible if you have rubbed/scratched a lot, but it still could be a herpes or staph infection, so I would probably get it checked to be sure. Herpes can live in the body for 10 years before you break out. If it's staph, you may need a strong anti-biotic. Good luck!

I agree with the previous person, to be sure I would go back to the doctor. It could be something else that needs different treatment.

ALWAYS CALL YOUR DOCTOR! Your doctor is your employee and a partner in you reaching you wellness goals, whatever they may be. I stuggled with yeast infections for years and I never had blisters. but I do know that you can get blisters from other common bacterial infections and allergic reactions. So you may be dealing with to different infections, but only treating one of them. Also I have allergic reactions from all kinds of medications, so my doctor gives me a steroid shot when we try something new just in case I have a reaction it wont be a bad one.I have also gotten than shot after the fact when the reaction was unexpected, I can feel a differnce in about 12hrs. She presribes me diflucan, sometimes she gives a duplicate perscription for me to take a week later.
I have learned a few ways to prevent yeast infections in the future.
1. never have anything but water in a bath. the different salts, soaps and washes can upset the pH balance of that area and let yeast and bacteria grow out of control.
2. Always urinate and wash with a warm washcloth soon after intercourse.
3. Change to clean under wear before and after a work-out, or any sweaty activity. I live in New Orleans, it's very hot here and sometimes I change my under wear three times a day.
4. Acai Berry. My gyno reccomended it for keep that area from getting to wet. My doc told me some women "slough more cells" during certains time in our cycle, thus creating the perfect conditions for yeast and bacteria to grow out of the normal balance. Yes that is the same pill they are "spaming" for weightloss, but it has shown no evidence of being effective in that way for me or my doctor.
These simple life stlye changes have made a big differenc.

Its possible and If It would me I would make sure the area is not getting rubbed by clothes, use A and D or something like Destin on the rubbed area. Sleep without panties to give it air. If this didnt help I would call the nurse in a couple of days or if it spreads or has a smelly discharge.

I am a stay at home foster mom with a 9 month and 18 month girls. They are my joy. I have a 23 year old son and decided to do this when he left for school.
