Having a potluck, but I'm making Rachel Ray's Cheese Puffs. You can google the recipe. It's so easy. They are like savory cream puffs made with cheese and herbs. They are very easy to make and will go well with ham
Any suggestions? Something that the kids will be able to help in.
Just for a family of 6.

we have a lamb tradition in our house
baked bone-in ham with a glaze, pineapple rings, & cherries.
an heirloom potato salad recipe.
coleslaw (again an heirloom recipe), ambrosia, & a jello/cottage cheese salad.
fresh bread .....& I'm attempting to make my Grandma's recipe for meringue-topped custard pudding. Not sure if I'm making banana, coconut, or pineapple yet! My sis is planning on a backup dessert, just in case!
Pork tenderloin and polenta are the only two things I have planned so far. It's just us (four) and the kids won't eat most of it, so I'm not going overboard.
An easy thing for kids to help out with are salads. They can tear up lettuce and throw on the toppings.
honey ham, scalloped potatoes and grilled lemon asparagus. pear tort. yum! i love ham leftovers. :)
Someone has asked this everyday for the last few days. Scroll back if you need more ideas.
I can't look, some ideas are just to yummy to think about. I'm still thinking about Olive Garden breadsticks from a post from two WEEKS ago...ugh. :)
I am making smoked beef brisket, grilled chicken, corn on the cobb, green salad, deviled eggs, and strawberry shortcake. Kids will help with the corn and the cake.
We're having dinner at my mother's house and they're serving Italian stuffed shells, another pasta, with meatballs and sausage. There's usually a green salad and crusty Italian bread to go with it and lots of delicious desserts like apple pie and lemon meringue pie. I bring a tiramisu, which is fun to make with the kids. I make a "cheater" recipe that incorporates Cool Whip ;-) and a special white chocolate pudding and it tastes exactly like a full fledged marscarpone tiramisu.
Glazed ham with pineapple. Mashed potatoes. Yams. Honey garlic carrots. Asparegas. Maybe green beans because baby loves them so much. Dessert.. maybe a jello no bake cheesecake, everyone here seems to love it.
We are getting together with two of our children and their kids, plus the mothers-in-law. Each of us is bringing sandwiches and a salad. One mother-in-law is providing dessert. We like to keep Easter lunch simple so the family can enjoy the religious aspect of Easter at church without a lot of worry over dinner preparations. And it allows us to enjoy being together during the afternoon without so much prep and cleanup that we don't get to visit.
I am making home-made lasagne. The kids helped me make the meat sauce yesterday. This morning I am making the bechamel sauce and they will help me "assemble" the lasagne in the baking dish. Then tomorrow we just pop it in the oven and dinner is done.
