Hello moms, my daughter is turning 6 soon and has been a little bored with some of her toys. I'm wanting to get her some new ones, and was wondering....what do your 5/6 yr old like to play with the best. my daughter likes to read, do arts/crafts , computer games, and will play with her little (3/4 yr old) sisters toys -my little ponies, little people dolls, stuffed animals. thank you in advance.

What can I do next?

My daughter is 6 (tomorrow!) and she loves girly stuff like play jewlery, dress up, arts and crafts, paper/glue/scissors/stickers/markers. She loves lip glosses and play make-up. She likes the "head" (as we call it) like a big Barbie or princess head where you can do the hair, plus hair accessories to do it.

We got our daughter a tool chest from Home Depot and filled it with art supplies, jewelry making supplies and a few canvas and clay. This filled her time non-stop making necklaces, paintings and decorations for her room. She also loved Barbies, a small sewing machine operated by foot/airpump and fabrics to make a fashion show. We also went to a resale store and got a bunch of old bridesmaid//wedding gowns(real ones) and a bunch of loose fake flowers and ribbon and she would put on her own "wedding". We also got her lessons for a few things ask well and wrapped certificates so she knew several days a week she had somewhere to be.

When my daughter was 6 she was all about barbie and Dolls of the like, dressing up in girly costumes with girly jewelry. Crafts like painting, coloring, stickers, scrap booking, jewelry making, etc... This is also the age where the ''littlest pet shop'' reared its elaborate, big eyed, syrupy sweet little heads. Shes almost 9 now and still loves these pet shop things. the rest of the stuff has become less exciting and now she wants a laptop and nail polish, argh

All the stuff S K mentioned as well..Loves Legos and Lincoln Logs...Hot wheels.

Anything that is ALL boy and keeps him moving.

This is a cool thing that he is into ALL boys stuff. This time last year or even four months ago I would have been saying his Princesses and Castles..but he has made that very endearing transformation into boyhood!
