Hi. I've tried what I know how to do to get blood stains out. It still hasn't worked. What home remedies or tried/true methods have you used to get blood out? Both items are really light colored-one is a bedspread white with some designs. The other light blue denim shorts. Thanks Mamas!

What can I do next?

Any soap (laundry, dishwasher, hand soap), rub into stain, wash in cold water. Blood almost always comes out completely as long as you don't wash in hot water or put in the dryer.

Hydrogen peroxide. My mom was a nurse back when you had to wear all white and your nurse hat and she always used hydrogen peroxide. Its always worked for me when I do laundry and with 4 kids there was always blood somewhere. lol

Hydrogen peroxide. My daughter had a home birth. The midwife daubed.every spot of blood. When she left, there were no blood stains. I've tried it on fresh stains and it works. It does not work on set in stains.

Rinse with cold water as soon as possible.
Completely soak with stain remover and let sit for 24 hours (oxi, shout, and clorox 2 have all worked for me).
Run through washer on the cold cycle. If it's not completely gone, treat overnight again and run through the washer on cold again.
Never ever use warm or hot water, and don't put in the dryer until the stain is gone. Once it's set with heat, it's basically impossible to remove.

Woolite is what I used for blood stains. Just soak in cold water and then wash. It's been a few years now since I had my monthly flow but that is what I used when I soiled my panties.

I use a laundry stain remover and give it a good soak or use the gel and leave it on for time they say (I find it can discolor if left on too long). Then I do a pre-soak in detergent if necessary.
Sometimes I have to repeat the whole process if it doesn't come out the first time.

I have used Spray and Wash and Oxi Clean in the past. There's been a few times I couldn't get a stain out but generally works for me.

Honestly I have found that the best method it just soap and cold water, but you need to do it right away and scrub until most of the stain in out. After that use a stain treater on the area. I have heard of using peroxide but have never needed to after using just plain old soap and cold water.

I used to donate platelets and white blood cells frequently at a major hospital. Occasionally there would be a drop (or more) of blood that would get on someone's clothing when switching out the lines or during the procedures. The tech would grab a bottle of saline solution and squirt it on the blood stain and it would disappear. And of course, saline solution is salt and water. They explained to us that the best thing for blood stains is either an immediate application of salt water (just table salt and plain water), or in the case of an older stain, a soak in salt water. Don't rub it - that just drives the blood cells further into the fabric. Gently blot or soak. They all preferred that to hydrogen peroxide. Make sure the water is very salty - use plenty of salt.

You don't need to buy anything to remove the blood. All you need is spit. Has to belong to the person whose blood it is. The blood will start to break up as soon as the spit hits it.

I worked in animals hospitals for fifteen years, and learned that hydrogen peroxide will remove any stain from a bodily fluid./secretion - blood, vomit, urine, or feces all respond to it.
I keep an opaque spray bottle full of it in the laundry room (peroxide is light sensitive). Spray it on the stain, let it bubble, and wash in COLD water.
