I highly recommend the Sony Baby Call. There are 2 of them, one is around $20 and one is around $40 at Babies R Us. I have the $40 one and it is worth the money since you won't need any batteries! My monitor works accross the street (in-laws live there). You can leave it plugged in next to your bed side and it charges the battery. You can also unplug it and it is portable and runs off its own charge for days. Also this one does not any have static. You can set it to stay on constantly or you can switch it so that it is silent until a noise triggers it to go off. My best friend is the one that told me to get this one and we both LOVE it!!! (She used both the $20 and $40 and much prefers the $40 one) Hope that helps!

I've been looking into that myself. From what I could find on the consumer reports, the video monitors are grainy and don't last too long. I've heard the audio digital monitors are best for long range and don't interfere with cell phones or cordless phones. This is the one I registered for but haven't tried it out yet:
Graco imonitor Digital Baby Monitor - 2 Recievers $89.99

I'll be interested to hear what kind of feedback you receive.

My name is J. and I'm a SAHM as well of a 13 month old girl. The monitor we use is an Evenflo Whisper Connect. It wasn't the one we had registered for but we really like it and I think it was around $20. I've taken it outside but since we only have a one story home I don't know if it works on a two story or not.
We live in Rohnert Park and if you'd ever like to get together let me know.

I bought the $20 monitor from Target and I could hear my son breathing in his room while I was doing dishes. I hear they have video monitors out now also. Good luck!!

Hi S.,
Well, my husband and I have the Safety 1st monitor (don't know if there's a more specific name on the package). But it has two channels, and is white, and it is around $17-20 at Target. It works great!

Also, I don't know how you like the cleaning house thing, but I am a WAHM. I am involved with two business that are both VERY beneficial to my family. I would love to tell you more over the phone (it's too much to try and explain over the phone). Give me a call sometime or send me your number and I will call you! I know that this opportunity would be great for your family!

Looking forward to talking with you,
B.

I really liked my Graco but I should mention that one day, the monitor part just stopped working. Luckily I was just about done with it anyway but I didn't know at first and would still take the reciever with me when I went outside for the laundry.

I had another set given as a gift that I used at the office. If she fell asleep in my office, I would go out to the warehouse with my husband. It wasn't very far but it would get very staticy. I could often hear more background noise than her. It was a Safe Glow 2 Receiver Monitor by: Safety 1st. The nightlight flickered...and it's pointless anyway. The belt clip was not easy to use.

Just a side note, if I was in your position, I would definitely buy a video monitor. Once you hear a gurgle that's questionable...you'll be running up and down stairs so it may be nice just to glance at it and be at ease.
