What Kind of Pots and Pans Do You Have?

I got permission to buy a high end set of pots and pans because my old set is a cheap scratched up teflon set that I have had for 10 years. I am interested in a stainless steel set. What does everyone have? Do you love it?

Hello, I have the Pampered Chef non stick pots and pans and love them! They have non stick inside and out so the spils clean up easily, come in great sizes, have a lifetime warranty and heat more evenly than most pots and pans. I never thought pots and pans would make a difference but boy was I wrong.
If you want product information, visit the online catalog at www.pamperedchef.com.
Let me know if I can help you with anything, as I sell Pampered Chef products, although I was addicted to them before I sold them!
PS we also have a stainless line!

I covet All-Clad! Based on my experience with the Calphalon brand, I'd say stay away. I have Simply Calphalon non-stick and ESPECIALLY from the hard-anodized. We received a basic set of Simply Calphalon non-stick for our wedding 5 years ago. Our level of use is VERY average--definitely not heavy--and the finish is coming off the the bottom of all the pots and pans. We've more or less always followed the rules not using metal utensils or harsh cleaning. They do seem to be sturdy though. It was one of their lower-end sets, so maybe they just don't last as long. I did also receive one of Calphanlon's high-end hard anodized saute pans. It's awful! Everything sticks and burns no matter who's cooking or how we use it. I even sent it back for a replacement because I thought it was defective but the second was exactly the same. At least Calphalon has good customer service! I know you didn't ask about these kinds of pots and pas, but I thought I'd let you know about the brand itself, since I think they make stainless too.

I'm so glad you posted this. I almost posted the exact same question. Be sure to let us know what you decide on!

Hi,
I highly recommend Salad Master Pots and Pans. You can find them on the internet. We have had Salad Master Pots and Pans for more than 25 years and they look new.

Calphalon. In my dream kitchen I would have a set of the Anodized pots and pans, a large non-stick fry, a couple of small non-stick fry pans, a copper/aluminum fry pan, a cast iron fry pan, a cast iron griddle and everything would come with glass top lids...ahhh. Side note, you net to treat your non-stick nice or they will not last...no more metal spatulas (hide those from the company : ) Don't scrub them to death. And for the cast iron, if you get Calphalon, then you don't have to preseason, otherwise you must.

I bought All-Clad about 3 years ago and LOVE it. It is not cheap but it will last forever. I have the stainless, high end one.....BEST.

My mom has salad master that she got when I was about 5 (I'm 47), and it still looks great. The warranty has been great as well.

I recently bought a new set, I was concerned about going from teflon to stainless so I purched the Cuisinart Green Set. (I have a large stainless stock pot and hate to clean it) I have really enjoyed cooking with the new pots and pans and clean up is a breeze.

we also have cuisinart. We have had the stainless steel set for about 1-1/2 years and I love it. They are great. We just have to make sure we keep a coated skillet on hand for certain meals. You wont be disappointed!

I love Pampered Chef's pots and pans - ours are now at least 8 years old and are ready to be replaced, but they have held up great. You can get them at half price if you have a party - I'm sure there is a consultant here on Mamasource.

For nonstick, Costco used to see an awesome three size set for $19.95 - great deal and quality. They were so cheap, we bought two sets for our family of five.

I have had a Cuisinart set for almost 10 years and love it. It is a stainless set, but a couple of the pieces have an interior teflon coating. The only pan I've had problems with was the 12 in sautee pan that I washed in the dishwasher for the 1st 8 years, not realizing that you putting teflon in the dishwasher is a no-no! Everything else is wonderful and looks as beautiful as the day I got it!

We got Revereware for our wedding shower 18 years ago and love them. I just looked, and you can get a basic set on Overstock for $125 http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Revere-Copper-Advant.... They have the copper bottoms, which disperse the heat well. All dishwasher friendly, etc.

The only thing I like better about our older set (which I don't see on the set above, but maybe you can find) is the fact that my handles aren't metal. It may be that the don't last as long as metal (but we haven't had any problems). I like the fact that I don't have to use mitts except when I'm draining pasta or moving the biggest pot on the stovetop.
