Constant Runny Nose

Hi momma's since starting preschool my DS constantly has a runny nose every couple of weeks and it drives me crazy. I take him to his ped to make sure it's not a cold and it's not. They said I can give him zertec so we do, but it doesn't seem to help. He's a healthy kid! So yesterday his nose starts to run and when I picked him up from school his teacher asked me not to brim him back till his nose clears. I find it to be frustrating. Before preschool he had one cold. Never a runny nose and not it's a constant thing. I don't know what to do....

Postpartum Joint Pain

Since having my son in January, I've had increasing joint pain in my knees (and thumbs!), along with some back pain -- feels almost arthritic. At first I thought it was just the normal wear-and-tear of my new daily routine along with lack of sleep. Well, I've been getting normal sleep now that baby sleeps through most -- if not all -- of the night, but the pain has only gotten worse. Has anyone else had this postpartum joint pain? Does it go away after breastfeeding maybe?

Is Is ADD or What?

My 9 year old has recently been diagnosed with ADD. Since the end of her 2nd grade year she began getting notes and we had conferences about her daydreaming, talking, raising her hand to ask questions that had nothing to do with the discussion. This has gotten worse as she is now in 3rd grade and she would get a note at least 3 out of the 5 days of the week. She is loved by all and her teachers say she is so sweet and thoughtful but she would not focus, daydreams, she still asks off the wall questions at school and many times she just...

Tubes, Adenoids and Tonsil Removal

I am having a dilemma over what to do with my 3 year old. We just went to the ENT doctor today who said we should have tubes put in because of my son's problem with continuous fluid in the ears. He said they would remove the adenoids at the time if they need removed. I am positive they will need removed because he has had trouble breathing, especially at night, for awhile now. He mentioned his tonsils as well, because they are very large (they touch, and are rated at 4 on a scale of 1 to 4). I am very nervous to have his tonsils...

Qustions About Alzheimers

Our family is going through a crisis. We have learned that my mother-in-law has alzheimers, we have suspected over the past several months. But recently she has had a fast decline in her abilities, and then we finally had a diagnosis. My question is what now? The family is very close which is good, so we are trying to get organized, so we can help her and our father. But where do we start? How do we step in without stepping on his toes? What do we say to the 20+ grandchildren most who are under 13? She isn't bad enough for a...
