I picked out this beautiful Disney Princess Castle Cake and put in the order for it. The cake is small a Half Sheet Stacked on top of each other to form the castle.

There are 12 kids (including birthday gal) coming to the party (Gymboree Party).

This cake will be plenty big if ONLY the Kids are eating. Not sure if it will be big enough if all the PARENTS EAT AS WELL.

Since I am a first time mama here and this is my FIRST Birthay party that I am throwing for others other than family I am not sure about Birthay Party Etiquette.

Do you buy a cake for total people coming or for total kids invited?

What do you do?

I am sure i can get the cake put on top of another half sheet if need be.

Thanks for your advice!

What can I do next?

I Just wanted to say that's a beautiful cake . where did you buy it at ? but yeah you should buy enough for everyone to get a piece. like one of the mom said they are taking the time to take their child with a "gift".and when you get it if you think it will be to much left over you cut and pass them to everyone,it rude not to accept. but make you you get the right size or you will be eating cake the whole week.

I would serve all the kids first and then offer it to the parents. Most will decline and / or not be upset if there isn't enough for them. The party is for the kids and the parents understand that. I mean, you don't have a goody bag for parents you know? I usually find it tricky when siblings come. Do you have to plan for them? That's what I always find difficult when throwing a party.

Well, my opinion is that you should buy for the adults too, not just the children. They are taking time to come to the party and brings their kids and we all know everyone loves cake :)

I would definitely buy enough for the adults. We always serve a big lunch @ my chidren's parties and I always make sure to have a ton of food. If you have a lot left just send some home with the guests. If budget is an issue you could easily make a batch of cupcakes and take them along as a back up. Good luck!
