Looks like you already have some good suggestions. My 17 mo old has always loved yogurt, chunks of cheese and apple, noodles and cheese, chicken, eggs, cherrios, cottage cheese, black beans straight from the can, frozen peas and carrots warmed up... just make sure it is cut up really small. If he is teething, they sell these mesh bags with a handle that you can place food inside to prevent choking. My son really liked chewing up frozen grapes inside one of those bags while he was teething.

You never know what they will like until you try it! Both of my sons have *Loved* olives and pickles at that age too?!?! Good luck!

When you get suggestions, please share with me because I am in the same dilema. My son won't eat anything different that doesn't look like babyfood or come out of a container. Whatever I try, he just looks at it and won't eat it.

My kids both had lots of teeth by then and had no interest in baby food. I fed them roasted sweet potatoes cut into bite sized bits, any and every kind of fruit, I would (and still do) buy the frozen, mixed vegetables and would steam those; they're already the perfect size. They love beans, especially black beans. I make up a trail mix for my youngest of cheerios, raisins and dried cranberries. Cheddar cheese is also a big hit. Basically, by age one my kids ate what I ate.

My favorite is avocado. Love it! When my last child could eat a chip with it, she would use it as a dip like her mother did. I did add some salt, garlic powder, and eventually some cayenne to it (believe it or not...she loved it) and a just a teaspoon or so of salsa. YUMMY!

Other than that, I did continue to feed her veggies that I made myself and pureed and put in ice cube trays and in a baggie, but once she got her first tooth (1 year old..she was my late one), I still continued to cook the veggies, but put them in chunks and still put them in ice cube trays and in freezer ziplocs to make it easy on myself. I did the same with some fruits.

I would slice up apples into small chunks too for the little one.
