What to Give as a Holiday Gift for Babysitter?

I have a 10 mos. old daughter and have had a sitter (who's 24) since she was 7 mos. who comes for a night once a week or once every other week. My daughter loves her and I want to get her something for the holidays, but am unsure what is appropriate in terms of amount, for instance, if I got her a gift card.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So, I gave and I hope I gave right!:-) Thank you for all of your advice! I bought her a sterling silver bracelet (her style, I think) and a $50 Starbucks card (she's addicted :-))! She seemed to appreciate it and I hope that mean she'll come back :-) - we absolutely adore her! More importantly, my 1 year old loves her!

You don't say how old she is but seeing that you've just started using her services I wouldn't go any higher that $15. That will buy quite a bit of coffee at dunkin donuts or a mall gift certificate can be used at any store or at the cinema.

CASH! cash! CASH! cash! CASH! cash!
My daughter babysits and nothing says "I value you, your time and the way you care for my child" like CASH!
You have a reliable, available adult babysitter who drives, that's like gold.
A nice card with a couple of Andrew Jackson's inside, that's a REALLY NICE way to say "Happy Holidays"!

Go with one of those american express/visa or master card gift cards...the lowest amnt is typically $25.

If you want to get her an actual gift you'd have to know her likes and dislikes...is she into books, does she like coffee, does she live at home or have her own place. You could get her a basket with things for her apartment if so....

I babysat years (and years!) ago for a family who treated me well around the holidays and always let me know how special I was to them and their 3 girls.

I too have a sitter and I was JUST thinking last night about what to get her for the holidays. I am thinking a gift card. Yet if she is young and could use the cash, I would just do cash. I think $25 is good. Just be careful with any gift cards cause so many stores are going out of business. Another cute thing is if you have a pic of her and your daughter, you could get a little frame for it and give her that w/ a little cash or gift card.

Extra cash is good or movie tickets or a gift card to the mall.
