What Would You Spend $105.00 On?

I entered an NCAA bracket contest and I won! My share of the pot is $105.00. My husband told me to spend it on myself. I am lost as to what to do. There are so many things I could spend the money on that I can't decide. plus I feel guilty and think of all the things that I could with it for my kids or husband or family, etc...its really hard to spend it on myself.

Its so easy to think of things for others and spend money on others, but I think most moms struggle with spending money on themselves.

So, if you had $105.00 to spend on yourself what would you buy or do?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the fast responses! Its good to know we all think about spending money, but most don't end up doing it.

I do think I will get my hair done, I haven't had it done in over a year! It will be a nice treat and its getting so heavy, I need to get it cut. Then I think the rest I will stash for some mad antique shopping. I also like the Paypal idea, then its not cash on hand. Thanks Mammas!

A memory foam mattress (topper)! I’ve wanted one for a long time but just don’t want to spend money on it. I would definitely not feel guilty spending money that I won on it as that is money we wouldn’t have had otherwise! It's a gift that would keep on giving......me a good night sleep =-)

- A new bra (mine cost 120)
- Chip in towards new jeans (mine cost 180)
((note for both of the above... I'm 6'1 with a 37" inseam and a 38DDD or 36 DDDD... so I have to pay through the nose for 'basics'. It's also why I patch everything I own))
- Books
- Music
- Tanning
- Into the pot for a new camera I'm saving for
- Into the pot to fix my laptop screen (it's been cracked for 2 years)

A pedicure and massage.
Spring outfits.
New shoes and a girly purse.
A night out with girl friends with rounds of drinks and a high calorie desert.
The possibilities are endless. Definitely spend it on yourself. You deserve it.

First, DO NOT feel guilty and spend it on YOU.

Spend it on something you would not normally do to treat yourself......spa, mani/pedi, facial, massage

Or.... new spring clothes, shoes, makeup

I can find lots of ways!!

Haircut and style-$50
Mani/Pedi-$45
Chicken Caesar Salad and Big huge Ice Tea for lunch-$7.50
remaining 2.50-maybe something sweet like a truffle or save it for the next day out

It would take a day out to do all this and the time spent going from place to place listening to music loud and enjoying time to myself to get a little pretty-ed up would be well worth it! When I get a day to myself, I LOVE to go and eat by myself at a place that only I like...just my thing....

I think most mommies do that haha
Its a constant "argument" in my home. Anytime I get money, that is supposed to be for me, it ends up going to my kids or my husband or so on.
My husband, of course, always says "Buy something JUST for you"

Hmm its hard to think of what I would buy haha
Clothes probably,
I'm too big for my pre-preggo clothes but my after baby clothes are all TOO big haha
Or I would hold onto it and spend it on my coffee treats :)
O o o Art Supplies ::drool:: I could spend MILLIONS on art stuff. I rarely ever get to, but it's nice to think about.

If I could NOT use it for anything like bills or groceries, I would probably buy some yummy coffee and the sink the rest into a gift card someplace I love so I would have it around when I saw something I wanted (either a bookstore or department store or something, or maybe put it in my PayPal account so if I found something on ebay that I REALLY wanted I would have it just sitting there). Otherwise, I'd go antiquing since you never know what you're going to find. I might even treat myself to a really hot pair of shoes that I would not normally spend the money on. :)

I would probably put it in the beach fund that my hubby and I have. Trying to save up so that we can take ourselves and our son to the beach hopefully sometime in the next few weeks if all works out.

Do something that you wouldnt normally do or you always say "hey, I should do that sometime"

Just remember the hubby okay'ed it already so dont feel guilty, sounds like you dont normally get to spend anything on yourself so enjoy it while you can!!

And also remember that you dont have to spend it right now, you can take your time and figure out what you want to do with it.

Have fun with it, and congrats!

Okay, first of all I have family that lives in Eureka...I love it there and it's such a small town I bet you know them...
Second, I would spend the money on ME! It would be hard because I would be thinking about bills to be paid...but i think I could get over it.
Go and get your hair done - $40
Buy a new shirt - $20
get a message - $30
Bring another $5 with you and spend $20 on a dinner with some girlfriends!
Have a good time.

What do you enjoy, or something you have done without for awhile?

Me: Message, Haircut/Color, new purse/shoes/clothes or fun night out with the friends (just go to a wineary and you can easily spend that on wine).

Yes, get your hair done. Maybe feet and nails also. Lol, that's about all of the money there! I too feel like I could get my kids or husband or family something. Because I am a teacher, I have to keep my hair presentable, but outside of that I don't get anything for myself. Is there any outfit or two that you want to get yourself this summer? Hope whatever you get, it makes you happy.

Eek. I'm like you. I would be lost as to what to do with it if I couldn't spend it on my kids or husband. I'd probably buy the latest book Michael Connelly has out right now (I don't usually buy the new releases in hardback---too much $$). Then some chocolate or a chocolatey frozen coffee of some sort and save the rest for when I DID think of something. Maybe a movie out with the husband?

It is hard to spend money on ourselves when we have kids, this past year I have taken a new approach & i'm coming out of frumpy mom mode I have my hair trimmed every 4 weeks,I buy new clothes & shoes for myself weekly, hubby told me to take out $400.00 for summer for myself & our kids so I did they have what they need & I went to buy what I needed that was so much fun..
I still have money left so instead of doing pedis & manis @ a salon I do at home with new polish & tools..Don't feel guilty you deserve to indulge heck you won do with it what you please or stuff in the back of your dresser to save for later

I would probably set the money aside for babysitting, so I could do some more "me time" things (pursue my crafts/hobbies, since I can't do that right now with the LO underfoot, LOL).

Or take a class through our parks & rec system (they have tons, at great prices--I was surprised when I found out).

Tough one. I feel the same as you. But I can daydream, so here goes:

-a new pair of sandals (my other ones are 6 years old!)
-a new pair or two of shorts (summer is coming)
-maybe a new pair of walking shoes, depending on the costs of the other items

I know, I know... a little crazy, huh?

Ugh, isn't it hard to spend money on you even when it is your money? My sister swears she will never ever give me another gift card so long as she lives because I always manage to spend it on the kids somehow.

Spend it on you and DO Not feel guilty!!!
I would either get my hair done ( cut and color)
or buy some new summer foot wear ( I love shoes!)
or some new underwear/ pretty panties new bra = )
Good luck! Have fun with your money!!!
