I had a period about the same time, when I was breastfeeding. Then I didn't get it for another four months or so. So, you should be fine!

Wih Both my kids i starting having periods early, while exclusivly nursing. With my first it was 8weeks pp and with my second 6weeks pp. One note if it is your period you may want to consult your Dr about safe birth control while nursing. As long as your cycling you can get pregnant, even if exclusivly nursing. I speak from experience.

I did not start mine with my first child until I was 14 months PP, but most people don't go that long....and it can be different with every child. Some women I know do get it back that early....but it can be kinda weird for the first few months, so give it a little time.

Yup, that's probably your period. I had that with my first child. I could not believe it and I went to the doc and sure enough he said it is. And it's actually not unusual he said.

I got mine about 26 days after my c-section delivery and every 26 days since, even though I breastfed exclusively till 6 months, continued with extended breastfeeding past a year, never supplemented with formula, and did not introduce cow's milk until 14 months of age. How weird is that? My son is gradually self weaning now at 16 months and for the past two months I've noticed my ovulation more...some cramping half way through my cycle.

It is most likely your period. I too am one of the one in a million women who get there period that fast post partum. I exclusively BF too. For me, that was the only period I got before I became pregnant with my second and it didn't happen with my second or third. Don't worry as long as it is bright red blood, not dark brown, it is your period. Just give your doctor a call and let them know. I didn't have to go back for a check up, but I did let my doctor know.

After giving birth and bleeding I also started spotting at about 8 weeks. It was actually from doing too much activity too soon. I took it easy and it went away. I then didn't get my period until 8 months after. I was nursing too.

My period did not return for 4 months after I had the baby. I had weaned my daughter to breastfeeding 3x a day and all other feedings were formula starting at 12 weeks (when I went back to work.) My period returned about one month after the weaning, but it came less frequently than it had before (once every 6 weeks or so). When I stopped breastfeeding altogether at the one year mark, my period became more regular, first every 5 weeks and then once per month.

It could be. Mine started around 7-8 weeks after my son was born and I was exclusively nursing also.

I didn't get mine till almost 9m, but did have very light spotting for a day or two around that time as well. Hope that helps.
