Juice really isn't much better than koolaid; it's just the sugar and water left from the fruit. If you want the benefits of fruit, then give fruit. There's nothing wrong with drinking water. Much of the obesity today (including in children) is at least partly due to juice, or any sugary drinks. It's bad for the teeth as well. I was just talking to a dentist friend the other day who said that juices fortified with calcium aren't as bad on the teeth - so if you must, then at least go for that. I have a B.S. in Nutrition, and that's my opinion. We eat a lot of fruit, and only have juice (or any flavored drinks) for a rare treat.
