Hi, Moms! I am a SAHM who loves to take my 22 month old daughter swimming. Last year, it was easy because I took her to mommy-and-me swimming lessons. I don't want to pay for lessons again(we just keep doing the same things over and over again, and I can just practice those skills with her myself) so I've just been taking her to the public pools near us. We live in southeast Denver, near Aurora and the Tech Center. We've been to two pools so far, and I am not impressed! One was very small and crowded and the other was dirty.
I would love to know where your favorite swimming pools are! Also, do you know of any pools that are open to the public in the mornings? The pools around here all seem to open at 11 or 1. By the time my little one wakes up from her nap after lunch, we don't have much time to swim or the afternoon has clouded over. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
Utah pool is very nice, indoor though not so great in the summer. Meadow Hills is a nice outdoor pool, it is around Hampden and Parker rd. I have heard you can join the Hampden heights pool for a few hundred dollars a year, I hear it is nice and they have some community/social activities as well.
I live in Highlands Ranch, so our rec centers all have pools all different and fun; but we also go to Deer Creek Pool every Friday at 10:30 - it has 0 depth entrance, dumping buckets, and fun stuff for kids. I have also heard that Lonetree's pool is very nice.
I just took my daughter to H2O'Brien pool in Parker (Parker and Main Street). It was great! There is a zero entry pool (like a beach) and water fountains, etc. for her to run through. I can take her in the pool area (like any other pool). Kids under three are free, and non-residents of Parker cost $5.50. They have a toddler hour from 9-10am. This is great because it's not crowded and you can spend an hour with your little one with no "big kids" around. At 10am, it is open to everyone. The water was a good temperature, and there were lots of lifeguards on duty.
I am not sure if you're willing to drive that far, but for me, it was worth it! I look forward to the next time we go.
My family loves to go to alot of indoor pools around, but we don't just stick to Denver, we are willing to drive to the suburbs around these parts to find the really great pools. My mind is drawing a blank this morning (pregnancy brain) of where the two favorites are we go to, but one is in South Denver, (Belmar area) and one is in a suburb to the north, off i-25 and 120th. There is a indoor pool near the skate park off E Orchard and Buckly. E Orchard is right off South Parker and I think that area is centennial? It is a rec. center called trails something. I don't pay attention to names - sorry... Anyways nice facility and lots to do.
Parker has a great outdoor pool too!
I take my dd to Utah Pool for swim lessons. I don't know much about there open swim except for all day Fridays. But you can always check it out.
