Looking for a new suit, I'm finding it tough out there. I don't think I have a unique body: more tummy than I'd like, some hips, and a need for a supportive bust. I am trying to find a tankini (ease of bathrooming a must) that is around $100 or so. Less would be great, but I typically use my suits for a couple of years, so it has to be good quality. Apparently I'm expecting too much from a suit, or I'm looking in the wrong places. Help please?
I love Athleta suits! They are well made and look really good on. Also a young and sporty vibe to them which I like. Their swim shorts look amazing and cover up the tummy perfectly but are still sexy. I used to do LAnds End until I realized that every mom at the pool had practically the same suit on :)

Target has an Assets line from Spanx. I bought it last night without even trying it on! Brought it home--perfect fit. Lifts my saggy boobies & sucks my tummy in...WIN!! $45 :)

I got mine from lands end. I bought a triangle bikini top (only the top) that is a pretty vintage floral print and then I just bought some solid bottoms at old navy. The top was around $50, and the bottoms were I think $15.

My current suit is from Motherhood :)
Surprisingly, I usually have the best luck at Target. I also prefer tankinis and I am not opposed to spending more on a good, well fitting suit. I always try on expensive ones from Macy's, etc and have bad luck. My last several non-maternity have been from Target and even though they were cheap, they have held up well.
I think I also got one a couple years back at TJ Maxx. If you go early enough in the season, you can usually find a good selection there too.

I got my favorite tankini at Kohl's last year during one of their many 50% off sales. They have a huge section of mix and match tankinis, as well as bikinis and regular suits. There was a line that had shaping features like bust minimizer, built in bra, tummy control, etc., and I ended finding a really flattering top & bottom from that line. I don't remember the name, but they may carry it again this year. I am very well endowed & I was able to find a top that was cute, with great support, coverage, and lift. All in all, I think the bottom & top were around $30-$40 combined.

I got mine at Target. I know I spent less than $50. (I think I got each piece for under $25.) I bought a black skirt (with the bottom sewn in) and a tankini with black trim.
Wow! I would not pay more than $50.

Try Lands End. You can get the one with the cool skirt too. They are two separate pieces and you can order different sizes. They have a good return policy too.
Good luck!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the three suits I got from Lands End last summer! I prob bought them in June or July and I think paid about $100 for all three. All the bathing suits were on sale! I would most definitely recommend! They fit pretty true to size too.

I just buy whatever from WalMart because I use it a few times a year when I go to California for a few weeks, but you should look into the Miracle Suits ... look online then find a store from there.

LandsEnd.com! Great selection, wide range of prices. Good luck! :)
They have brand-name suits for $20. I just bought one where I could actually choose the tankini top by bra size so it fits and is supportive, and a matching bottom. Retail on the suit was $180, and at Ross it was $20. It's hit or miss there, I had to go twice to find one, because they get more in all the time, and don't have every size of every suit all the time. But it is worth it.

I usually find good things at Macy's. You can find one for under a $100 if you look hard! I get the Athleta catalog but I've never ordered from there, the suits do look cute though.
The last two years I've actually found my suits at Marshall's. They are good suits and only cost me $30!! Woo hoo!!

JC Penneys. Find one you like, and make sure you use the drop down bar to find the size. Not sure if you need a womens size or not, but they do have womens sizes in a lot of their suits that are not marked womens. I always get compliments on mine, and they last for quite a few years.

Land's End is too "momma-ish" for me but they do have good quality suits. I like J. Crew personally and the suits go on sale pretty quickly. I got mine at the end of the season for 35 dollars down from about 75.

I'm plus-sized so I guess it's different for me a little bit, but I prefer the full-coverage tankini as well. Ditto on the more tummy than I'd like & desperate need for bust support also. I tried on suits at several stores & as a last ditch effort before going to my parents for the holiday weekend, I swung by Wal-Mart. I found the most becoming suit I've had since before having my kids 13 years ago & for both pieces it was a whopping $33. Yes, thirty-three dollars, total. I forget the brand name, but it had the Good Housekeeping logo on the tag.
Worth a shot I suppose if you're like me & prefer not to order online, wait for it to ship to you & then try it on & see that you don't love something about it.

Lime Ricki. ( www.limericki.com ) Mine is very durable, cute, and has great support up top. They have free returns, if something doesn't fit. I've found I have to size up. If you are naturally a medium, get a large or extra large. I've had mine for several years, and it still looks great!!

I got mine from Dillards and was happy it was a one piece, and $98. Although, I didn't need it, I noticed that a lot of the 2 pieces ran by bra size not S/M/L. I'm sure Dillards isn't the only department store that does this. Or I saw tons that I loved at Water Water Everywhere, but I didn't want to spend $100 because I just wanted the 2 piece for a trip to Bermuda. I ended up getting my tankini at Target, but I'm very small chested and I can't imagine what I got being very supportive.

The last few years I've bought all my suits from Boden. They are fantastic. Super cute styles, long lasting with no fade out and dare I say flattering! Go to bodenusa.com to check them out. Use code FACE at check-out for 15% off plus free shipping AND returns. You can get the suit home, try it on in front of your own mirror, and if it doesn't work you can return it at no cost. Super low risk! Plus each item has reviews, which I find very helpful in choosing the right style and size. Hope this helps! Have fun shopping!
