for 4th of July, I did Backwards S'Mores:
the mega big marshmallows
dipped them in chocolate
rolled them in crushed Golden Graham cereal
& served on a stick...in a foil liner.
Excellent presentation! & absolutely delicious!

Graham crackers
Spray slow cooker with cooking spray. Make cake batter as called for on box . Pour into slow cooker.
Cover and cook on HIGH for 2 to 2.5 hours or until toothpick coms out clean.
Turn OFF slow cooker, sprinkle marshallows and chocolate chips over top of cake.

Wow that sounds good! Thanks for sharing. I am a s'more and rice crispy treat JUNKIE! Love them.
Quite literally one of the very reasons I enjoy camping so much is because of s'mores! If it weren't for the super yummy camping food and cocktails (I allow myself to pig out on camping trips) camping would so not be worth it!
Now I can't wait to go camping this summer!
OOOOOO sounds so good.
I used to make s'mores brownies by adding choclate chips and miniture marshmallows to the batter before baking. You can also top with the big marshmallows before baking, but the marshmallows can burn a bit.
Mmmm, sounds yummy!
We love smores a lot around here too. Sometimes I add a full size Reese's PB Cup instead of Hershey's chocolate and it's equally delicious! Try it! I've resorted to roasting over a candle or even just doing it in the microwave!
Um, sorry Cheryl, but I've never understood the appeal of s'mores. I endure them while camping, but other than that, they are just too much for me. And I've got a pretty sweet tooth.
Glad they make you happy, though! :)
Holy smokes, Reeces PB cups are my drug of choice so now I have to run to the grocery store to get these ingredients so I can have my fix!!!
Cheryl, that DOES sound amazing!
ETA: I am like Riley, I am not too fond of graham crackers. Like Rosebud too, S'Mores are sickly sweet for me.

I think you need to go back and check your spelling! :)
I have done the cakes in the cones. Those are fun for kids.
Thanks for sharing!
Ice cream cone cakes
need 24 FLAT ice cream cones, 2 muffin pans, 1 box cake mix, 1 to 2 containers of frosting
I typically use one box of Betty Crocker party rainbow chip cake mix
(mix like directions on box)
24 flat-bottom ice cream cones
1 to 2 containers Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy frosting (any flavor)
Make cake batter as directed on box.
Divide batter evenly among muffin cups (two-thirds full).
Place ice cream cone upside down on batter in each cup.
Bake 16 to 22 minutes or until toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean (cones may tilt on batter). Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Remove paper baking cups. Generously frost cake with frosting, and decorate as desired. Store loosely covered.
I have made them by putting the frosting into the cone and baking too. Just need to be careful that they don't fall over.
My boys love smores.....but I do not like the mess.....so we compromise.
In a bowl add some honey grahams cereal, mini dark chololate chips, and mini marshmellows. Eat with a spoon.
Everyone is happy!
ETA: "OCD smores" recipe is for home. We will do traditional smores when we go camping.
I love chocolate & marshmallows! Just not graham crackers! Shudder.
So this recipe looks awesome. I'd just use waffle cone, instead :D
My younger son HATES marshmallows and anything to do with marshmallows. Bizarre. I'm not a fan of chocolate. Just as strange.
Oh, I'll trade a s'more for a good chocolate eclair any day of the week,
and yes, it's those pesky marshmallows. Wow. Sugar load. Burnt marshmallow has to be my least favorite 'camping' taste. ugh. I know some people love it though.
When we go camping, we do the graham crackers and chocolate in foil on the coals, perfect for us.
OMG sounds sinful. Have to try it! Thanks.
this one is good:

I didn't look at your responses...but if you look at my pics on FB from our fire last night, you will NOT see s'mores...I not only don't like them, but actually think they are GROSS! lol! I only know one other person that doesn't like them, everyone else LOVES them. Go figure. Although I have copied this recipe to save for a later date...since everyone ELSE loves them, I might try it. lol =)
this recipe sounds good
for traditional campfire smores, i hate hersheys chocolate so i always use reeses or ghiradelli
another campfire recipe is banana boats;
slit a banana down the middle, put choco chips in between slit, wrap up in tin foil, let sit on fire til choco melts, add whip creme and cherry
Happy New Year
