My husband and I are thinking of taking our 4 year old and almost 6 year old to the Dells for the waterpark experience, mainly. We were wondering if anyone had any reccomendations on where to stay, which ones had the best waterparks for that age group. There is so much to choose from, it is overwhelming! Thanks!

The best place to stay is the Wilderness Resort. The parks are within in the property and only open to the people staying there. There are many options available for lodging and free shuttles to take your family through their property.

My kids love it there.

Good luck and have fun!

I second the Wilderness resort. Plenty of stuff to do on property! We've also stayed at the Chula Vista and had a good time there as well.

Make that a third vote for the Wilderness (also their Glacier Canyon section). They have everything. You can try and save money somewhere else, but they are so big they are always having deals. You don't even need to leave the resort. They have condos/villas/etc with kitchens too if you want.

TIP: Check prices on internet & specials - then call to make reservations - they seem to have better prices over the phone and/or free upgrades.

We actually go to Lake Geneva, WI to Timberridge Lodge. Its a great waterpark for the kids and all rooms are equipped with a kitchenette and whirlpool. Great waterpark and great package deals.

Having just been there 2 weeks ago, the entire Dells area is really a pretty good bargain. Lots of the resorts come with "free" tickets to a water park. We stayed at the Flamingo...got a room for $65/night. And that included 2 tickets/day to Noah's Ark outdoor water park. Can't beat that!!! The boat rides/duck rides are something that kids LOVE (my son is 6 and he loved both trips), but I would suggest checking into your hotel first, or at the very least, picking up some brochures from the hotel lobby, because there are coupons galore in there (good for 25% off boat/duck rides).

For the summer, I prefer an outdoor waterpark. The indoor ones are good for Fall/Winter/Spring.

The Wisconsin Dells website is really good, and you can sort by bargains, etc.

Good luck and HAVE FUN!!!

Another on the Wilderness. Glacier Canyon Lodge has full kitchens and options for 1 or two bedrooms. Beautiful.
