Does anyone know of any legit work from home or telecommute opportunities? Please no scams or "own your business" type deals. Legit, work for a company, but work mostly from home.I don't mind working, but I want to be able to do it on my own schedule so I can do the things all the stay at home moms get to do. (volunteer, field trips, etc.)

I work from home because I'm a property manager. You might try that. My office is right next to my apartment. I can go work in my robe and slippers on the weekend.

Customer service is a very big work from home field. They are picky about your 'atmosphere' so its not real good if you still have little ones underfoot. Here is a link I found by plugging in "Customer Service work from home companies" into Google-
FYI: this took 10 seconds for me to find so I am sure that if you really tried you could find some yourself.

What are your skills? What do you like to do? etc etc.

We run our business from home and in busy season, I hire at hom moms to help me with all my AP/AR Quickbooks, etc. The person i use works from her home, we banter back and forth via email. She knows my deadline for something and it is always in my inbox ready for me to review when asked.

Think outside the box. Many sales reps work from home and have no admin support. This is easy for an at home mom to manage.

Good luck.

Most corporate work at home jobs expect you to have childcare; you don't get to be both a SAHM and a well paid valuable employee who just happens to do your job at home. I WAH - my kids go to elementary school and on school breaks they go to daycare or camps. There is no way I could get my job done with my kids home, it wouldn't be fair to the kids or to my company. Not trying to be rude, but realistically a corporate WAH job that allows you to have your kids around is a pretty rare thing and probably something that you would have to work yourself into over time and with seniority. I have several friends that WAH for corporate America; just like me none of them have the kids home during work hours and all of them have put in a lot of time/effort WOH before they were allowed to WAH.

Having said that, MSN had an article posted over the weekend that talked about freelance jobs you can do from home. The website is www.elance.com. You might be able to find work on there that fits your skillset and that you can do to fit your schedule. Good Luck!

Yes, there are legitimate work from home opportunities. I worked for corporate america and worked long hours. I really wanted to spend more time with my son, volunteer at his school, and be less stressed. I spent a lot of time researching different options until I found one that made sense to me...
