My daughter is 6yrs old. She is not into much toys. She hardly plays with the toys she has now. For this age group what are some good xmas gift ideals that santa could get her?

Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thank you all so much for the wonderful suggestions. I will take them all in consideration. I am not big on kids having electronic games like the DS but I just might have to change my thinking. I suppose kids now days technology is the only option. I was thinking of getting her some craft things because she loves that. I have a feeling every year it is only going to het harder. Thank You all for the wonderful suggestions.

What does she enjoy? Books, arts and crafts, dress up, outside stuff like skates, a sled or a new bike?
How about board games, computer games or DVDs?

ETA: And your spelling of XMas is just fine. It is not an attempt to take "Christ" out of Christmas. It is actually firmly rooted in tradition to do so, and if people would learn the origins of the 'x" abbreviation for "Christ," maybe they wouldn't be so quick to rage against it.

Does she like doing puzzles or crosswords or wordsearches? My son likes doing those and there are some kid books you can buy. Also just books in general. Or does she like music? Get her some CDs or an MP3 player with music on it. Clothes if she's really into fashion. Some cute new bedding.

My daughter is much the same way and she is 8 now. I would suggest easy reader books about things that she likes or chapter books if she is already a good reader. Maybe a journal and a fancy pen? I also like the idea of games. Here is my suggestion, take her to the store and ask her to pick out things that she would like Santa to bring. I do this with my kids and it saves me so much time. I tell the kids before we go that we are NOT buying anything today, just pick out what you would like to get. Then I take pictures of the items with my phone. I have a record of who wants what and ideas of what to look for on sale.

Does she like games? Experiences are always remembered - maybe a certificate to the zoo/museum/movies/sleep overs/etc. Movies? A bike?

At 6 or so, it was an inexpensive mp3 player for my daughter (she is 17 now), and art supplys. Not a kit as that generally encourages a specific outcome. Supplys like colored pencils, slightly fancier paper, a lap desk if they like to draw sitting on their bed or the couch, with a little plastic tote for the supplies, etc (a make your own deal), encourages them to be far more creative, make cards for birthdays (get some fancy envelopes), to draw pictures for relatives, etc. This is all if your daughters likes to draw and be artsy of course (my own daughter attends an Arts High School, so this was always something she liked to do, but her "real" talent sorta kicked in about 10-12 years old).

Good luck!

Our daughter liked Board Games, Books, and art supplies.. all sorts. She also enjoyed science experiments at this age she was still into dress up< remember purchasing an exquisite dress that Christmas with a cape and fancy dress up shoes.

For outside play, she says her all time favorite thing was her "Twizzler".

I have a six year old daughter and she is asking for a camera for Xmas. Some other things that she likes are: board games, books, and arts & crafts. I am also thinking about getting roller skates for her. She has a DS and loves it, so you can do that if it's in your budget, or games for it if she already has one.

You got some great answers. Maybe there's a new hobby or sport she'd like to try? Something like a few ice skating lessons? Also, my son loves magazines--there are all kinds, stonesoup, highlights for kids, and then some about animals, etc.
