There are several questions about people doing strange stuff with their accounts. Now granted every time I have updated with a what happened it shows up as a what happened. I have seen it show up enough as a response to their own question to know it is a glitch. When you click on the username it links back to the same profile.
I know when I log on with my phone sometimes the flowers I give do not show up on my account when I log in on a computer so if I send a flower you will get two flowers from me and they both link back to my profile.
I know that sometimes when I answer from my phone it posts the answer twice. I have no access to the second response. I know if I post a question from my phone it sometimes posts twice. Then and only then do I have access to both. Strangely when I change the title of the one to remove this one they always remove the other one with the answers. :(
So the needed question, why does everyone seem to think everyone else is up to no good when we all know this platform is poo?
M, exactly, if it was intentional it would be hysterical. Like watching the hobos talk to themselves. :p
Guys, easy rule of thumb, if it links to the same profile, it is a glitch. Otherwise, sure, they have two active accounts.
Dad, exactly, that is why I gave everyone the easy way to tell. Glitches link to the exact same profile.
I suppose if someone went through the bother to make two different profiles look exactly alike that would be a new kind of strange!

Yeah, J.--that explains the glitches....I think we all know that and accept it just like our email deleted on our phones doesn't delete from our laptop or desktop.
But some IS intentional. Quoting yourself -- verbatim--as another member...the WHOOPS!--realizing it and changing it....is kind of proof of some of the schizophrenic shenanigans that go on around here.
And that is NOT a side effect of a "platform" which is the hardware & software framework--it's not like a "platform" is some mysterious, ever evolving variable, as you seem to imply.
I agree completely. Ive seen that glitch a bunch. I also don't see the big issue with people having 2 accounts. If they have that much free time and want to argue with themselves let them have at it=) why do people care so much and get so upset?
If I saw someone truly have 2 accounts and argue or respond to their own question I'd be amused not upset=)

I think both. I think some are up to no good and have zombie accounts.

I don't think one thing has anything to do with the other. Likewise, I don't think the separation of the two issues gives any less credence to either theory.
I will say, accessing the site from my phone is terrible! Usually the ads cover the text and I have to reload repeatedly to get the ads to go away. I've never experienced the glitches you're talking about, but I get it.
Boredom. Some have nothing better to do than to think up conspiracy theories!
Because people on here are so negative and nasty and jump to conclusions and think the worst of others. Everybody's on a pedastaled high horse and has perfect perspective on everything. At least I do.
Well, yes, sometimes it is a glitch...and sometimes it's not. Generally I'm not too pessimistic, I like to see the good in people, etc. But sometimes, especially when people think they can be anonymous, people are up to no good! It's sometimes hard to tell who is who and what is what, but I do agree that it's a little silly to talk about it so much! ;)
I figured it was a glitch of some sort and not anything else. And I do know that sometimes a post will come up twice if the computer is lagging and you push the enter button more than once.
This is the first time I've seen a flower come twice tho, maybe it was generated from two different electronic devices. .. Or mamapedia is just going crazy due to summer solstice.
There are glitches. I've seen the same private message come through twice and public messages come through twice. It was strange, but I knew it was just one of those glitch things.
I also know that when a post comes through on two different names, and then quickly, one of them is changed as to look different, (obviously hoping that no one noticed yet) that we have one person writing as two different people. When we see THAT, the gig's up and that person is busted! Oh the glee!
So, according to how it's done and who it is (and oh yes, we do eventually figure that out) we can usually tell when it's someone up to no good and when it's platform poo.

It all just cracks me up! I'm just happy to come here when I can and read some good questions and answers. I've learned a ton coming here. I'm not a particularly observant person, so even if I did have more time to come on here, I still wouldn't notice most of what has some people all up in arms.
