Seeking Green Mom's Advice (Plastics, Toys, Cleaning Supplies, Ect)

I have embraced helping the world and my child with becoming more "green" and trying to be aware of what I am putting or emitting into our world. We have always tried to eat organic and now have started using Seventh Generation cleaning supplies and laundry detergent. I am concerned about the plastic bowls that I use for his feeding as I place these in the micro as they are the #5 plastics or contains, Bisphenol A, a chemical in everyday plastics. Any suggestions on safely heating baby food? Can't I just use the glass jar? What about...

Breast Pumps and Bottle Feeding

Hi all, my 5 1/2 month old son is pretty much strictly breastfed, but on occasion we have left him with my mom and a bottle of formula to go on a date or something. When he was much littler he took it just fine, no problems, but now he won't take it at all! It's been awhile since he's had it. I'm thinking if we try breast milk in it it might help, but I don't want to buy an expensive breast pump for occasional feedings. He may have to take a bottle soon because I'm going to be in a wedding and I wanted one just in case. Are manual breast...

But I wanted to hear from...

Introducing a Bottle

I soon have to go back to work so I have started giving my 6 week old daughter one bottle a day in the evening so dad can do it. She sucks it down so fast then screams, then pukes what seems like the entire bottle up. We try to take breaks but she starts crying. (It literaly takes her less than 10 minutes to guzzle 3 oz) If we burp her, more puke (milk) comes with it. She does spit up a lot so we keep her upright 20-30 minutes after eating, but the amount that she spits up after a bottle seems like the entire bottle and I'm worried she...

Recommended Baby Items for 1St Time Momma

My husband and I are expecting our first child in July. This will be the first grandchild on both sides and his mom is dying to hit the store! She would like for us to register (which is fine) but we're not sure what to register for. Besides the obvious - crib, bedding, stroller, car seat - is there anything that you recommend? We'd like to make sure that we cover all the bases and with all the gear and gadgets out there, it can be a bit overwhelming. Thanks for your help!

Any Info on Phalate-free Products?

Just wondering if anyone knows which products are phalate-free? I saw the news articles regarding baby soaps/shampoos that are being absorbed into their bodies and found in urine tests. SCARY!
