How to Survive a 13 Hour Plane Trip with a 17 Month Old??

My husband and I are flying from West coast US to Australia next month with our 17 month old son. His favorite word is down and he is NOT a cuddler!!! I am starting to collect a few ideas on how to get through this flight (plus the 2 3-hour flights on either side of it). My pediatricians only advice was to not do it... this is not an option!! We will be there for 3 weeks and then have the same flight pattern home. Has anyone been in the same spot? What about using benadryl or something to help him sleep? (mind you, I am NOT a fan of...

10 Hour Car Ride with 20 Month Old Toddler

Does anyone have any suggestions for making a 10 hour trip more enjoyable (tolerable) for a 20 month old little boy? We just ordered a travel tray thing to help out and we have a car dvd player that we haven't used yet and think that should help somewhat, but we haven't gone on a trip this long with our son since last summer and now that he's way more mobile and active, I worry that he's not going to do well that long in the car. Bored 14 Month Old -

Hi Moms, I am starting to think my daughter is getting bored during the day. What are some things I can do to help make the day better for her? Sadly there is one problem, I have a really bad back and cannot stand or walk for long periods of time and have a hard time taking her places on my own. My husband is home 3 days out of the week so if its on those days I can take her out.We cannot afford daycare so that is out of the question. I was thinking about maybe a swing out side and a little baby pool. But what else is there to do? I...

3Rd Grade Girl Activities for at Home

What would be a good activity for third grade girls that we could do totally at home? There would be up to 12 girls. I could get one or two moms to help me drive them home from school and do crafts or games. It would be more of a making friends/fun day.It is not for a birthday. We want to foster them getting along and getting to know each other. It would last 3 hours maximum.
