Potty Training for Boys

I've been reading about potty training, and I know my 2 year old son isn't ready yet. I'd like to ask those of you who have potty trained or is potty training boys. At how many months did you start the training and how long did it take? I hear it takes a lot longer for boys than girls to be trained. There are some literature out there that say potty training could be done in 1 day or 3 days. I'm wondering if that really works, especially for a strong-willed and active boy??
