Similac Advance - Formula Question

Since our baby was born, she was breastfed, but needed a supplement. We continued using the formula we started on in the hospital - Similac Advance. She has been doing great with the 'ready to go' kind, getting less than 8 oz. a day supplement. I recently bought the Similac Advance 'Early Shield' variety. She has had non stop gas - starting 5 min. after she ate! I hate to think her little tummy is hurting because of it! Obviously I am not giving it to her again...but I am wondering if other moms out there had a similar experience? ...

Organic Formula with Cane Sugar Versus Regular Formula with Lactose

I have been feeding my 5 month old Similac Organic from birth. Back in May the New York Times article came out stating that Similac Organic uses cane sugar which is much sweeter than lactose and can cause tooth decay when teeth develop, lead to obesity, tendency to favor sweets later on in life, etc. I tried to switch to another Organic formula and had terrible gas issues. I am now debating between keeping my son on Similac Organic or switching him to a non-organic formula that uses lactose for sweetening instead of cane sugar. Which do...

Do You Use Similac Soy Formula or Enfamil Lipil?

When I was pregnant I signed up for every mailing list and freebie I could, subsequently, Enfamil and Similac send me free product samples from time to time. My son uses regular Similac, so I have 1 8oz can of Similac Isomil Soy formula- exp. 10/2010, 1 12oz can of Enfamil Lipil-exp 11/2008, and 1 12oz can of Enfamil Next Step Lipil-exp 6/2009. All are still sealed and have been sitting in my pantry. I hate to just throw it out when those cans cost $13 or more at the store, but we'll never use them. I am in the Fenton/Arnold area.
