Does anyone have their child in a Christian preschool in Keller/North Ft Worth (with a 3-yr-old program) that they love? I have visited many in the area, but I am interested to hear what moms have to say. My daughter has separation anxiety so I really want a school that provides a nurturing environment.
Thanks!

So What Happened?

Thanks to everyone for you help! It wonderful to be able to read answers from moms who have been there. We decided to send our daughter to Light of the World, but since they register early she is on the waiting list with FBC Keller as a back-up. I will be looking at Fort Worth Christian for the years to come.

We looked into Fort Worth Christian School. It has a pre-k program. I know a lot of moms who love the school and I had considered putting my 5yo in kindergarten and my (at the time) 2 yo in the pre-k program, but he was a bit young and turned out my new job has on-site care.
You could also look at Bethesda. I believe they have a school too.
If you need any more help you could check out the Child Care Resource and Referral Service for our area. I sound like a broken record on this, but for a nominal fee you can have them search licensed facitlites that meet your criteria. They give you top 5-7 that match your needs and then you get to make final decision. Saves you a TON of leg work though. My kids go to Discovery School too and it sounds like it would be a good fit for you. The teachers are very loving and warm. Its in NRH on the corner of Smithfield and Chapman. I've also heard really good things about Building Blocks in Keller. Good luck!

Our son attends Harvest Child Development Center in 377 in Watauga. He started at 18 months in a part-time Parents' Day Out program, and he is 3 (about to turn 4) and this year was in the PreK4 full-time program. He LOVES it, and the teachers and staff are so awesome. My son had a little separation anxiety when he was younger too and he has grown so much being there for the past couple of years. You should definitely try to check it out www.hcdc.org. Good luck!

I have mine in Light of the World on Old Denton/N. Tarrant. He had SEVERE separation anxiety, he cried, screamed and literally had to be pulled off my leg for three months, it was crazy BUT the teachers there were soooo awesome about it and made me feel comfortable and right after the three month mark (hopefully it wouldn't be that long for yours!!) he did a 180 and now he LOVES LOVES LOVES it, wants to go everyday (he just goes 2). So to me that says a lot too. Next year they may be booked already, a lot of the good preKs fill really fast and in Feb. but there are waiting lists. I have him enrolled there again next year for 2 days and then 2 days at Caminito as well because I think he will do better going 4 days (9-2) at age 4, even now he seems bored at home! Caminito is not Christian based but they are complete Spanish immersion and I have only heard good about them too but they are quite a bit more $ too...good luck deciding and do it NOW, like I said many are already booked up for the fall...

My daughters go to Southlake Christian Preschool just north of Keller on 1709 near Davis Blvd. My oldest is in the 4 year old class and my youngest is in the 2's. This is our second year in the program and I have been impressed so far:). Each year they do special things as well as stick to their curriculum. For instance, they bring in a selection of animals from the Ft Worth Zoo every year; they actually have a live presentation with the animals and zoo keepers right in the main auditorium! For western day, they have a petting zoo and pony rides. They also have a Spanish teacher for all ages each day and for the 3's and 4's classes they have a Discovery class where they learn a lot about science and interact with the world around them. It is just like a mother's day out program where the kids attend two days a week from 9-2. If you decide to attend there, I will have one in a three's class next year, please look me up:). My name is Loni and my three year old is Abigail.

My daughter attended Discovery School In NRH at Smithfield United Methodist Church. She started in the 3 yr old class and we were more than pleased. My husband and I toured about ten schools before we selected Discovery School. The hands on way of teaching was amazing. You are part of a family at Discovery School. Some of the above mentioned school were on our list and we rate Discovery School an A+.

All three of my boys have gone to First Baptist Church, Keller's preschool (One is still there, but we are on our last year there), I've had many of the different teachers over the years they are all wonderful, I've had at least one child in there school for the last 7 years. Let the teachers know of your child's concerns and ask there advice on how to handle it, they are very good and patient with kids there. This is something the teachers deal with each year and they can help you and your child make this transition. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me

My son and daughter go to Caminito. It is a Spanish Immersion preschool in old town Keller. They have so much fun and are learning so much. The are doing all the regular preschool activities, but are also learning Spanish. My daughter also had separation anxiety and they were real good with her. Now she goes straight in. Good luck!

My son is in the 3 year-old program at Discovery School at Smithfield United Methodist in N. Richland Hills. We have been very pleased. He loves going. The teachers are warm & caring. My son doesn't have separation anxiety, but they have been great with another child that does. My son has learned so much this year- academics and bible stories. He just loved it. They have a wonderful hands-on curriculum. Here is their website: www.yourdiscoveryschool.com, They offer tours on Thursdays so you can see the kids in class. Good luck!
