1/2 Day Preschool?

I'm starting to research preschools for my son who will turn three in Nov 2010. I'm hoping to find a preschool that offers 2 days a week, 1/2 days. Anyone know of good ones in the Keller area?

What can I do next?

Call Ron Newman at the NRH Recreation Center, ###-###-####. They have a great 1/2 day program that is very affordable! For 2's, 3's and 4's.

My daughter goes to Compass Christian Preschool in Colleyville. They go Tues/Thurs from 9-2 - it is a wonderful program and she has loved going there since she was 18 months. They start school next week, but I'm sure if you needed to start late, that wouldn't be an issue. I know that's not in Keller, but wanted to give you one more option. HTH.

Reading Friends in Keller Tu/Th 9-1, It is opening up this fall but has 5 other locations, one in Colleyville. LOVE it there, and most children read before kindergarten! www.readingfriends.org.

My daughter went to Mt. Gilead Enrichment Academy. They go on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 9:00-2:00. She went there for two years and just absolutely loved it. If she could have gone every day, she would have. The classes are small, so the kids get alot of one on one attention. All of the teachers and the director are just wonderful people.
It is off of Keller-Smithfield Rd. and 1709.
Good luck, I know it's hard finding just the right place for your little one.

Mine just started Light of the World in Keller and we all love it. There are two teachers per room (that was important for me) and only 15 kids per class (for age 3). They REALLY emphasize good nutrition (even though you bring own lunch) and that was another high criteria for me. They have a packed day, do Spanish, music, and lots of other stuff. I would check them out for sure. The bad thing is most of the "good" schools are probably full for the year already but there will be waiting lists you can get on...good luck!

You might also visit www.momcheck.com. The research a lot of local preschools and provide you with a list of amenities, and in many cases prices. I'm not sure how well the cover the Keller area, but it's worth a try.

Good Luck!

Best preschool ever is Reading Friends in Colleyville. They just opened up another facility in Keller off 1709 and Quest, near Rufe Snow. Same owner, same program, and some of the Colleyville staff went over to the new building. Your 2 year old would go Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00-1:00. They eat lunch there. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff and program there at either facility. All the teachers there are degreeed professionals and moms, too. School starts on Tuesday after Labor Day, so give them a call. The Colleyville number is ###-###-####. They can get you hooked up with the Keller people. Check them out!

The teachers are EXCELLENT and they learn to read! She had a great experience there...in fact she didn't want school to end! Cornerstone Baptist is on North Beach by N Tarrant! They have two day a week, three day a week, everyday of the week and this year they are going to start something in the summertime as well! Good luck to you!

Keller Christian School at Keller Church of Christ in Old Town Keller. My son will be starting there this year but we have a friend that has been going there since she was 2 1/2 and just turned 4. They go from 9-11:30 T & Th and also offer "lunch bunch" where they can go all the time or you can pay a drop-in fee that day and they would be there until 2 pm. Tuition is REASONABLE - (I searched high and low all last year for affordable around here!). I know, it's not easy to find 1/2 day pre-schools around here and my son is just not ready for the full day thing. He still takes 3 hour naps in the afternoon so I was desperately searching. If we couldn't have gotten into KCS we would have gone with NRH's rec center pre-school.
