Fifty seems alot...that seems like more like a high school or college graduation gift. I'd do 25 or 30.

Since you're close with your cousin, $50 would be great.

My son just graduated 8th grade and most people gave $30.

For 8th grade I would probably just give $30 but if you are comfortable with $50 I'm sure it would be appreciated.

If you are confortable giving 50 and you are close to the child I would then for sure. I usually give 100 for high school and college (as long as I am close to the person or their parents) and 50 for 8th grade. You have to base it on what is the norm for you and your family.

My family seems to be big spenders so we always give $50. My husbands family is more conservative and $25 is a great gift. Just give what you are comfortable with as I am sure anything is appreciated.
