Am I the Only One... - Blandon,PA

We have a Chicco stroller and just recently bought the Chicco Polly high chair after great reviews. However, I hate the high chair!! I find it really difficult to fold and the shoulder straps are horrible. The shoulder straps on the stroller are the same way - I cannot adjust them to be small enough. I have an 18lb 5 month old and he's a pretty big guy yet the straps are huge! Every review I read loves the products but it seems to me that Chicco have a MAJOR design flaw with their straps. The instructions don't even discuss the adjustment of the length. Am I completely missing something or do others have the same issue?

What can I do next?

I really haven't had any problems with my Chicco products. Compared to all the other options it was WAY WAY better in every aspect. The tray was easy to get on and off, easy to recline, easy to adjust the height... we loved it. I don't remember the straps being too big when my son was small and we don't really fold it up much. I was just happy that it didn't pinch my fingers like the other high chairs.

I am having a similar problem...my baby is not yet a year and small/average for her age, and the waist straps do not extend any longer and is squeezing her already. I did find the shoulder straps to be loose. Major design flaw...I will know what to look for now when shopping for another stroller. Until now I have really liked the chicco.

I have the same issue. I love the stroller for it's one-handed set-up and fold-up, and the infant seat worked great. Honestly, I never strapped my daughter into the regular stroller seat. Thus far, I haven't had a need to.

The highchair is a different issue. Because of the hard saddle under the tray, I also never used the straps. But now that my daughter is old enough to be at the table, I don't use the tray and have to strap her in so I can let her sit at the table with me. McKenna is 14 mos, 20.5 lbs. and 26 inches tall and the straps are STILL too long, even at the tightest.

I do love the different height adjustments, though, because we have had a few occasions when we ate in another room (holidays and such) and I could lower the chair to accomodate my seat. Also it was necessary to lower the chair for it to fit under the table.

Another thing I hate about it is that the straps cannot be removed for cleaning. She recently got very ill and threw up all over the chair and it was a pain getting the straps clean while attached to the chair.

The instructions are very poor. It seems that they were originally written in a foreign language and didn't translate well. However, I have gotten very friendly service from the company. You can find their number on the company's website.

However, if you can return the highchair, I recommend it, unless the other features are worth making do.

I also took the shoulder straps off, I found them to be too tight for my son. Do you have them in the lowest hole? I think they come with the straps in the highest hole. Try lowering them. Though I did find my son was more comfortable & ate better w/o the straps. He wasn't trapped back against the chair.

I took the shoulder straps off of our high chair. Other than the straps, I love it!

I also have the chicco travel system, chicco umbrella stroller and the chicco high chair. I love the strollers but I feel the same way about the high chair. I don't have difficulty folding the high chair or reclining the chair. What I can't get figured out is the straps. For me the right strap will adjst to fit my 6 month old but the left strap will not. My little one is 16 pds and the staps are huge on him. I am happy to know it just isn't me.

No you are NOT alone. We have the Chicco stroller and the infant car seat. BOTH straps are horrible. The car seat straps don't have enough slack in the buckle area and the stroller straps are hardly adjustable. We don't even use them and just put up the foot the guard so he doesn't slip out. I registered for the high chair then decided to get something more space saving. I put a review up on the Babies r us site saying so.

call customer service. I have the chicco caddy seat (attaches to tables) and was having a horrible time with one of the sides not releasing. I called them and they sent me a new chair completely free!

I was frustrated with the seat but VERY pleased with the customer service. Give 'em a call.
