I have a friend who had the same things you are talking about, she began to take 2000mg of this and it worked better than any anti-depressants and also thickened her hair.

I've had a lot of issues with hair loss in the past, mostly due to medical problems. I am going through a period of hair loss right now and some other issues. My doctor put me on an anti depressant, mostly for my anxiety. I started taking it and feel a lot better; which is great. My issue is that the medication, and every other anti depressant med I have researched, causes hair loss. And since I am currently experiencing hair loss (was before I even started the meds) I would really like to find something that doesn't cause this problem. My question to you all is... Does any one know of any anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medication that does not cause hair loss?
I have had my thyroid levels checked and my adrenals, and about half a dozen other hormones. Thank you all for your concern. I really just wanted to know about others experience with anti-depressants and hair loss.

HI K.! I am also on anti depressants for anxiety and it is great. I have never experienced the hair loss. I take Zoloft. It may be something you want to try
Has your doctor checked your thyroid? Has he checked your adrenals? These tests would be relevant and important tests to have done prior to ordering antidepressants. Hormonal imbalances may cause hair loss. Chris RN
I haven't seen any of the medications I've taken to have hair loss as a side effect. I take Wellbutrin, Celexa, and Ativan. The Ativan is specifically for anxiety. I've taken several others but can't remember their names right now. I've not had a problem with hair loss.
I just looked up the above 3 listed drugs. None of them have hair loss as a side effect. I always look up meds when they're prescribed. I've not seen hair loss as a side effect in any of them. Is your information from a professional site?
