I need help on ways to change the color of my daughters walls without painting. We are renting a house and the entire house is brown (ceiling to the carpet) I know I could do the chocolate and pink and it would look great, but all of her wall art and decoration is brightly colored baby dragons. Please moms help me.

What can I do next?

We live in an apartment and use those seasonal flags available at target and michaels that are meant to hang outside and pin them up inside. Right now we have a bunch of bright colorful snoopy ones. They brighten up the rooms and are real cute.

You could try hanging up large pieces of fabric on her walls. If you have access to colored butcher paper, you could let her make art on it then hang it up in her room, too. I'm not sure if either of these will help. Baby dragons sound really cute though!

I would go with bright Green or aqua accents. This will tie in with the baby dragons, and will look look good with the brown. Have fun, kids rooms do not have to be just one things. Make it her own.

Something I've done in the past is buy some stencils & small jars of corresponding paint at someplace like JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby & painted designs on the wall to enhance the decor of a room. The stencils come in all shapes & sizes & designs. For example, one of my girlfriends stenciled green ivy over & around the door inside one of her bathrooms. It was beautiful! It looked like real ivy growing there if you didn't look very close.

Are you sure the owner would mind if you painted? If you went with "builder's beige" (which would cover the brown and coordinate with your baby dragons), they may even be thankful!

Otherwise, I think you've been given some great suggestions. The only one I would add as a possibility would be lattice board. You can get it already painted white (if that's what you want) at Home Depot or Lowe's. It will create a "garden" affect. Cover a whole wall or only the bottom half, etc. Good luck!

You can put fabric on the walls with liquid starch. When you take it down, you wash the walls and it does not harm the paint. Cheep sheets or a bolt of pink fabric would probably do it!

You can use liquid starch to adhere material to the wall. It won't hurt anything.

You could hang curtains on the walls, or even sheets. You could hang them either all over for a very dramatic effect, or stagger them throughout the room.

Mirrors of different sizes and frames would look cool too.

At Home Depot, they have "Thrifty" wall board. It is around $12 for a full sheet, and it works for a cheap dry erase board.

Good luck!
