Automatically Refreshing a Webpage

See if your school district has an alternative phone-in option.
And/or . . . .
stop refreshing constantly.
Just refresh every 5 minutes, or every 10 minutes.
Either you'll HIT at the right moment, or you won't.
But at least you won't keep sitting there.

Is there some way to move yourself up the substitute pool status list?
For example, having a preference code?

Also, is your connection a modem?
Or faster?
You might need a faster connection.

Where I live we have something called a Jobulator. It is a a very small program that is on your desktop. It rings a bell when a new job becomes available. Are your jobs thru Aesop? You might inquire if your county participates with Jobulator. It does cost $30 or $40 but it is good for a year. I had the same problem until I finally bit the bullet and purchased the download. It is awesome! If you are able to get it and have to walk away from your computer, it will show the jobs that have come in while you were gone. I get a lot more work now than I did before. I don;t know anything about automatic refreshers. It will, for instance, let you know all of the jobs that come during the night or while you were at work. Good Luck.

The trouble with constantly refreshing (automatically) is that something can disappear as fast as it appears - before you can click it. If something can come and go that fast, you are still going to have to watch it in order to tell what is happening.
There's the reload button at the top of your browser, and there's Ctrl-R (at the same time), but you still have to do it manually. Some sites have protections against bots (programmatic hits on their site) and they'll boot you out if they think you are some sort of cyber attack (block your IP address for a time).
With this sort of thing there really is nothing that helps in the way of short cuts.

I know of nothing except for the little "refresh" icon on the toolbar for refreshing. You have to refresh this website as well to see if you have received any flowers and to load new questions. Maybe if you open the webpage with a different browser? Have you tried that?

You might try a program called Sub Sidekick, http://www.subsidekick.com

It can send you text and email message alerts! In addition, it can auto-accept jobs for you. Refreshing is annoying and you don't have to worry about it anymore! It works with every district.
