I was on a website a while back that prompted all the questions to include in a baby book, starting with the labor and delivery story... I started filling it out but now for the life of me can not find it. Does anyone know of a website that does this? or any kind of prompts/templates out there? Thanks!

This may not answer your question, but I am an avid scrapbooker and have made baby books (as well as chronicled every year thereafter) for both of my girls. Here's what worked for me. I take lots of pictures of my girls - not just on big occasions, but doing the everyday things that they like to do. When they were babies, I took pictures of them during their happy moments (in the stroller on a walk, or in the high chair being fed oatmeal, or on a blanket on the floor reaching for the cat's tail) and also during their unhappy moments (one of my daughters hated wearing a hat, so I took a picture of her screaming and trying to pull her hat off). Anyhow, when you upload your pictures into your computer, if you're using a program like iPhoto or the one from Creative Memories or whatever, there is usually room for you to label the photo or write notes about it. So you just write,"Corinne hated wearing hats, even though she was totally bald and it was a cold winter." Then when you go to make a baby book or scrapbook, you have all the cute stories right there, and all you have to do is write them down!

For me at least, this has been a really helpful way of hanging onto all those memories until I get them into a scrapbook (let's face it, as moms, we don't have tons of time to scrapbook, and it's easy to forget all the stories!). I have found it to be much more relevant to show a picture of baby trying to sit up by herself for the first time and then writing something like, "Isabelle is almost ready to sit up by herself at 6 months old!" - rather than just filling out on a form "12/14/05 - Isabelle sits up, 6/1/06 - Isabelle walks." As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words!

As your baby gets older, you'll find that having a record in photos with stories will mean so much to them! My girls are always pulling their scrapbooks down off the shelf and reading them. They love that they are the star of a story and they love reading and re-reading about all the funny things they did when they were babies.

Have fun!!

HI Hillary,
I use the Creative Memories Memory Manager in combination with Creative Memories Storybook Creator Plus. However you can use a free version of Storybook and all you do is drag and drop your photos in. Fill in the titles and some journaling, upload when you are finished and order when you are ready. I have always been the paper (traditional scrapbooker) but I am so buys this year with homeschooling that I might do something digital for speed and to have something over nothing. Your local CM consultant can send you a list of promps for things to document. If you don't have one I am happy to help. Also happy to brain storm with you and make a great list together. I have a 2.5 month old right now.

If you go to Google and type in "online baby books" a number of them pop up.

Little Chapters looks interesting because you can have an online book and/or you can pay to have them create a hardback baby book from your online stories and pictures.

I used pregnacyweekly.com when my daughter was pregnant. It has a calendar so you can enter info about the doctors appointments, pregnacy cravings, etc., and you can insert your photos.

Also it will send you a weekly update on what is going inside of you for one year.
