E., have you considered in-home childcare? Noise could be a factor for your son. I keep babies and toddlers. See my listing, "Whittle Ones", and reviews, in Mamasource under in-home childcare. S. W.
I work part time 4 days a week, shortened hours. I had thought this would give me more time with my baby, but he ends up sleeping from the time he comes home until bedtime because he hardly sleeps while he is at daycare. I've spoken with the workers about it and brought his sleeper to daycare but so far, nothing's worked to address the problem. Does anyone have ideas on how to get him to sleep better when he's away from home?

My daughter has a hard time sleeping during the day if she isn't held. At night she sleeps well and through the night in her own bed. Finally I found that when she falls asleep in my arms I can put her in her vibrating bouncer and she will stay asleep. I hope this helps.

My grandkids do not sleep at my house. Consensus has it that it's not their house and too much is going on and God forbid tht they'd miss anything. As the kiddo gets used to daycare that could change. Be assured though, that kids WILL sleep when their little bodies issue the sleep orders. This won't go on forever.
Maybe it is a difference in schedule and environment that is causing him to not sleep. I don't know that there is really any way to overcome that short of writing out a typical day of his when he is at home that the daycare could try and implement for him while he is their care.
