My husband and I want to get a baby gate, but there's just so many kinds out there, I'm not sure which to get. I need one that's adjustable to fit between both door frames and wall-to-wall. We're in an apartment, so we dont have to worry about stairs. Any of you ladies know of a brand/style that's durable and convenient? Thanks!

I am a daycare provider, and I use the biggest wood gate they have a t Walmart, to keep the children out of the kitchen. It is sturdy and durable, and I am in and out of that gate to many times to count. I have a huge arch way that it placed in, so I needed the largest gate they had to fit....hope that helps!

The only thing I can say about gates is don't get the wooden ones. The bend and warp after time.

We went with the adjustable Evenflo gate with the easy opening handle. A little pricy, but well worth the cost. We clamped it in and it just stayed where it was for months, and I didn't have to climb over because it swung open like a door. We bought ours at Target, but I'm sure Walmart, and other stores will have them too.

I have an evenflo soft and wide gate. I've had it almost 3 years now and it has made it through 2 kids and a puppy. I'm 5'3" and hop over it easily. It is fabric, so it is easily washed and it is adjustable in width.

Parents one hand walk threw gates. Don't get a gate that you have to jump over or take down every time you want to go into the next room.

J.,
I have used two diffrent gates on wood and one being plastic. The wood ones are harder to use and it is easy for a 4 or 5 year old to climb over and they brake. The plastic ones are easy to use and they dont brake easy. You can get them at walmart for $20. I have a 3 month old and i used to babysit for a set of 5 year old twins that just climb over the wood fences in their house.
