H.S.
Hi S.,
Congrats on the new addition! I like the name Kayla it goes better with the middle name. I have a 10 month old and the name we choose for her is Maleia (Ma-le-ia) it is different and fun for her.
So my husband and I are expecting our second baby in about 3 weeks...and it's a girl this time. We really like two different names, so I'd like your opinion...AND if anyone has any good girl names that are not so common or 'different' or unique I'd love any other ideas you may have.
So the two names we are thinking of are:
Kayla, although I really don't want to spell it that way. I want to spell it Kaela just because it's different and the name Meira (mirror-a). I THINK we are going to use my sisters name as a middle name, which is Rachel. I don't really like Rachel as a middle name as much as a first name but I really want to use my sisters name. So Kaela Rachel or Meria Rachel are the top two right now...which do you like better? Or any new names are good too :) Thanks everyone!
Hi S.,

I Think I like Kaela Rachel the best. I have twin girls and wanted something unique. I named them Lilly Margaret and Londyn Grace. Little girls are so much fun!!!
Congrats on the new baby. :) I also like Meria, however I wouldn't use Rachel as a middle name. I do like the name Aliyah as someone else suggested. Yes, I know I spelled it differently than she did, but the way I spelled it is the Hebrew to English spelling. The name means "to go up" and it is usually used in reference to the Jewish people returning to Jerusalem. My husband and I just had our second child in April ... a girl and the names we had picked out where Nayomi Sheli which means beautiful one of mine and Aliyah Li'anora (which I believe meant 'to go up and light the way' and we chose Nayomi Sheli. Either way, go with what your gut says, maybe you can make a combination of the names Kaela and Meria and Rachel. Good luck again and Mazel Tov (Congratulations) on the upcoming baby.

My daughters name is Karlee Elisabeth. We came up with some pretty different ways of spelling karlee but this is the one that stuck. And my husband want elizabeth, for his grandma, but I never really cared for the name so I change the z to an s and then it was better. Some of the others that we considered were
Olivia
Emmalee (or leigh)
Ema
Congrats on your new family member!!!
My name is so different that no one knows how to spell or how to say it correctly. I have spent my whole life spelling my name and telling people how my parents choose it. If you like names that are differnt, I suggest coming up with a name that you hardly ever hear but yet is easy to read and spell. My first daughter is named Kylee, very cute name but she is one of many "K" names that are popular right now. Plus, Kylee is usually spelled Kylie and I choose Kylee or now everyone spells her name wrong as well. When I got pregnant with my second daughter I wanted something different, but easy to spell and read when you see it. I came up with the name Haven. I love it more and more everyday, it was the perfect choice for what I was going for. You never hear it, you can spell it, and you can read it! Out of the 2 names you have picked out, I like Meira! (it does not belong to the over populated "K" family)
Good luck in your decision!
they are both fine names... but I recommend against unusual spellings- as your daughter will always have to spell her name her entire life...
If you give her a more commmon name with the normal spelling--(such as rachel) most poeple know how to spell rachel.
your name is S.-- I bet you always have to tell people whether it is sara with an H or sara without an H... imagine if you had to always spell your name for everyone..
kayla , Kylee, and Kalee are all very popular right now.. that doesnt make it a bad choice.. but there will probalby be other little girls with the same name in your daughters classs.
Careful with spelling your new babies name "different" People won't pronounce it right and you'll probably have a lot of people calling her a different name. I thought of that with my daughter.. I was gonna do Emilee, but than my husband made me realize that if you spell a name different than it normally is spelled than it will be hard to find things for them with their names on it and also people will not pronounce it right. My name is Marcia and people ALWAYS call me Marsha..
Good Luck- Kayla is a pretty name.
I agree with Marcia that you do have to be careful wiyh different spellings of a name. Everyone will pronounce it wrong and spell it wrong, you will get irritated. But both names you choose are beautiful names, and it is great that you are going to use your sisters name for a middle name! But since you asked for some good girl names I will try to help. I have always loved Callie or Calla (because I love callalillies!! Also my grandmas name Ennie (pronounced Any), Lacey is good, Sophia. Have you checked the web, there is a site for the top ten in about 15 different countries. http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/1429674.html
I like Kaela Rachael. I think if you want to spell it differently you just have to be prepared to spell it to people all the ime. I named my daughter Haylee and most people spell it Hailey so I have to spell it for people all the time. But it doesn't both me as we wanted to spell it that way becasue my husbands middle name is Lee and wanted to have it in her name. Also about finding things with your daughters name speeled right on them: Most things can be custom ordered. So no you can't walk into the store and pick up something but you can order it.
Hi S.!
When I was close to giving birth to my second son, I went on www.babyzone.com where you can do a "Baby Name Poll." It's pretty cool because you can put the different names that you are having trouble choosing between and people will vote which they like better... you can check to see how it's going at any time. As far as my opinion? I like Kaela better. What about Kaela Rachelle? Good luck - hope this helps!
K. :)
I like Kaela Rachel.
Hmmm, I like Meria better, but Kaela Rachel sounds better together!! I'm all about unique names. My daughters names are Adara Heaven and Azadria Leilani!! How about Ameria?? I like "A" names too, lol!!! You'll find one you like, don't worry. Google unique baby names!!!
I also agree Kaela Rachel
Everyone seems to really like Kaela, but I prefer Meira! Different spellings never did much for me, I prefer the diferent sounding names.
Some of my fave names are...
Eva ~ daughters nickname
Evangeline ~ daughters name
Sway ~ daughters middle name
Sofie
Nevaeh
Lynnea
And I always wanted to use Louise, but we never did :(
My daughter's name is Jordan Nicole. I love it!!!
well those are cute. I am sure she'll be the only one. I don't use mine's middle name but it makes it sound southern and the other is from my cousin's girl
Taylor Fay
Serenity
