Baby Slings - Racine,WI

I'm having baby #2 in a few weeks and want to make more use of a baby sling this time. With my first I had a ergo-carrier and it's great, I just would like a less bulky more snuggly option.

I've llooked at Kangaroo Korner and their adjustable pouches and also lovelyduds.com-I am leaning towards theirs as they seem really easy to maneaver and give a strong sense of wearing security. I'm concerned at how 'easy' a wrap really is to put on and add baby.

Opinions welcome!

Hi C.,
I used Kangaroo Korner adjustable pouch with my son (2.5yrs) and now with my newborn and it's great. I slip her in and out with ease and it allows me to play on the floor or at the table with my son and I can give him a lot of attention but still have her close without being "in the way." I have also worn the sling under my winter coat and have been able to take little walking trips around the neigborhood. I would see if a local store has them so you and your baby (when they arrive) can try it out. Good luck!

Hey There! I found the absolute best slings which used for the first year and a half or so with my son at these two websites. The easiest and smallest to fold slings are the over-the-shoulder ones. I have folded mine up and changed my son on it (in a tight spot on a park bench), used it as a pillow on a long flight, and have carried him everywhere in it:

Although a wrap does have a slightly steeper learning curve, I found it easier to use because I could completely enclose my infant to keep wandering hands away. Plus it saves time to take baby in and out when running multiple errands and in and out of the car. With the ring sling, you would be constantly adjusting to get baby in and out. And doing chores around the house, i felt more secure wearing the wrap instead of the sling.

I used a wrap and a padded ring sling. And never really got the hang of using the sling. LOL. I loved the versatility of the wrap and the fact that I could tighten it to MY comfort level. With pouches you can only adjust so much. I probably could have easily used a Maya Ring Sling, also.
