Beaches the Resort- Turks and Caicos...Have You Been?

Sorry this is late, but we went last summer and are already planning a trip to go again! We loved it.

Your 3 year old will love Camp Sesame. There are plenty of things to do, they will post a schedule every day.

The food is very good and there is something for everyone. My advice is that if you like a Japanese Steak House and want to go to the one there, make your reservation early, it fills up quickly. Other than that, there are 16 different restaurants to choose from. For breakfast, we just did the buffet with plenty of fresh fruit, omlet stations, pancakes, you name it. Lunch was casual like pizza or another buffet and then dinner was a nicer restaurant. They offer plenty of healthy choices!

There is a mini waterpark that is perfect for a 3 year old and a bigger water park with slides and a lazy river for older kids. Many, many different pools for you to choose from, getting a chair or table is never a problem. The mini water park is cute, it has a "swim up bar" for kids, they can get a smoothie or something else to drink and sit in the pool while they drink it.

You will be treated like royalty the entire time. Tipping is discouraged by the resort, but we did it anyway. We left the housekeeping staff $5 a day and if we had an outstanding waiter, we would discretely slip him/her some money.

They also have beach parties where they will serve dinner on the beach buffet style and have entertainment and there are shows every evening at the resort ampitheatre. The Sesame Street themed show is early and then a more grown up show is later that evening.

This resort is spotlessly clean and there is no reason to leave the resort property. They will pick you up from the airport and take you back. You will need a passport to go here.

If you get a chance, take a snorkel cruise (it's included), but the sunset cruise is not, I think it was another $45 per person. If you scuba, the outings are included. My husband scuba dived every day. There are very few things that are not included.

My husband and I went to Turks and Caicos for our honeymoon... It's a spectacular place... There is not much to do outside the resorts... We did not stay at Beaches but families who were on a sunset cruise and they were enjoying their stay. You must go to a restaurant on the beach called Da Conch Shack formerly Boogaloo's... It was wonderful... They caught the conch and cooked it when I ordered it... I would say Turks is a little expensive but we stayed all inclusive so we didn't venture out of the resort much...

I've heard good things, but I have also heard that it is VERY expensive. My grandparents take us all on a wonderful vacation every year (always around $13000 in price), and they said that Beaches was a little too steep even for them! Again, depending on the time of year (and the fact that the economy has crashed since we last looked), it may be cheaper, but that was our only reason for not booking!

Yes I have! Being a travel agent I do travel frequently to both family friendly resorts and adult only as well. Beaches is the only property that will allow your 3 year old in the childs program, so if that is the main objection, then go for it. I personally feel that resort is way over priced, but they do spend a lot of $$ advertising, so they have to get their money back somehow! I can give you advice on better resorts and you would for sure not spend that kind of money as on Beaches. Let me know if I can help you.

It's an all-inclusive and part of the Sandals family of resorts. We haven't been to Beaches T&C, but are planning a trip next spring! I know several families who have been and who have discerning taste, and they LOVED it. My previous experience with Sandals resorts has been wonderful -top shelf liquor, amazingly good food (my husband used to be a chef, and I was worried because he's PICKY), and truly NO tipping! Once you've paid -you've paid and unless you opt for extra activities and stuff off of the resort, you don't need any money with you. I can't wait to go! They also have kids' camp and babysitting service, so you can actually relax a little bit!
