Hi Matalie, I almost always buy a size bigger when I buy quilts for our beds...even with dust ruffles. It works well and you get plenty of "snuggle" room on a cold night! So go for it. Best wishes.
My boys share a room. Both sleep in twin beds. I am looking to buy some new bedding for them. I am toying with the idea of buying full size quilts rather than twins. So that they will hang a little longer - I don't use a ruffle. Has anyone else done this? How good does it look?

i did it for my girls and it works wonderful gives them covers to cuddle. then in the morning making the beds double it. great minds think alike.
good luck T.
I actually buy a king quilt for my queen bed - I have a high mattress it helps cover, but also gives more covers!
Hi N.,
I thought the same thing when I bought a comforter for my son's twin bed, but I ended up buying the twin and it is definitely big enough. (Maybe it's just super-ginormous?)
Another thing to consider--not sure how old your boys are--but when I first bought this particular comforter, it was SO heavy and SO bulky that my poor kid could barely move around in bed! LOL Now that he's older (and stronger!) he can handle it just fine. I was stressing about the dimensions, but don't forget to consider the weight as well.
Hey that is a great idea! I actually bought full sheets for my daughters twin bed when we switched her over from a crib.
Long story short, they were clearanced at Target for 5 bucks and the most awesome vivid pink color! They were the jersey tshirt style and I thought I would just make it work to save some money. Well it turns out when you wash them, they shrink up a little (unlike normal thread count type sheets) b/c of the tshirt material. So they actually fit like they are perfect for the bed and it really worked out!
Also, I didn't have a dust ruffle, but I did have an old white sheet leftover from a dingy set that some stuff got worn out and I threw away. So I just rigged up the white top sheet between the matress and the box spring. You would never know the difference. It covers under the bed until I find my next bargain "real" dust ruffle to do the trick.
Hope your comforter works out! I am totally doing that the next time I get to buy one for my bed! Thanks for sharing.
