I have been off the pill for a while. My period has been very regular, every 30 days. Due to my age and trying to get pregnant for over 6 months, my husband and I decided to start clomid. I have taken the clomid challenge and one cycle of clomid. I was supposed to start my period 2 days ago. I had PMS and had spotting once when I went to the bathroom on the day I was supposed to start my period. So, I thought I would start, but after the one time spotting, nothing happened. I have taken two pregnancy tests--both negative. Has this ever happended to anyone?
Yes, Clomid can definitely make your period later. It just happened to a friend of mine. For me, it gave me an ovarian cyst that required emergency surgery. But apparently, I'm not normal in that way. I was on Clomid for 3 months when I got the cyst.
Go to the doctor and have a beta test. HPTs don't always work, especially if your HGC (the pregnancy hormone) isn't high enough.

I was also very regular before taking Clomid (every 26-28 days) & after taking it, it did make my periods more difficult to predict. Sometimes it would be shorter than 26 days & sometimes it would be longer than 28 days. I did go back to normal when I stopped taking all the infertility meds & doing all the infertility treatments. And after I had my twins (who are 4 now), it also went back to normal even when I was still breastfeeding (unfortunately for me!).
Good luck to you as I know it can be a long & difficult road when you are trying to conceive.
I have taken clomid and found that my rule of thumb was for every 50 mg one extra day to my cycle. 13 cycles later(not all in a row) it still holds true for me.
I have had two rounds of clomid and my periods have always been regular. My last round though, I had a very light period for about 3 weeks. ( panty liner light). I thought I may be preg. since I did not start when I was supposed to but the pregnancy test was negative. May have taken too early. Let me know if this has happened to anyone else. Clomid made my periods a little wacky but I'd still take another pregnancy test.
It may be too early for the test to be positive yet if you are pregnant. The spotting you noticed could have been implantation bleeding... the same thing happened with me before we found out we were pregnant with our daughter (now 13 months). I waited a week, took the test again and it was positive! Good luck! :)
