I have black hair color spots on my beige color carpet. Can U pls suggest what should I use.
Thanks in advance for all your help!
Thanks a lot for all the advice and help. I tried using OxyClean, the pre laundry stain remover and it made the stains very light, almost gone. But it created a lot of foam on the carpet and I had to use my steam vacuum to kind of wash the area but the stain is very light now. Thanks to all.

There is a liquid cleaner called: Goof Off, you can find it at carpet stores, it's in a little tin can and smells like lighter fluid! But it definetly works, I spilled RED candle wax on my white carpet and it all came out!!!!!!
I have never had this experience. My gut instinct would be to tackle it with my favorite bubbly, hydrogen peroxide. However, I went on the web in yahoo answers.com for you. There someone recommended "Goof Off". It is recommended by a painter and you should be able to get it at Home Depot or Lowe's. With the high cost of gas, I would call first.
I typed "Goof Off" in Google and it pops up in www.epinions.com (one of my personal favorite sites). There you can read the ten reviews and decide the pros and cons. Some people really like it and some people are not that hot about the product. The summary rating of this product is 4 out of 5. Good Luck
Hair color is permanent. It contains things like peroxide that bleach the carpet. How big is the stain? If it is not too big, and the carpet has a bit of a "nap" to it, you may be able to cut a piece out of a closet and use it to replace the little piece of stained. It the nap is thick enough, you should not be able to see it. Use a construction glue to hold it in place.
Try "Spot Shot". My dog ate an ink pen that bled all over beige carpet, and it came up completely!!! Use the aerosol kind and blot it up, don't rub. It may take the whole can and a whole roll of paper towels but it works great!
Hello. I'm sorry to say that I have never heard of anyone getting hair color out of carpet. They do say to use rubbing alcohol when you get it on your skin and rubbing alcohol takes grass stains out of clothes. Or Spot Shot works well on other carpet stains. Good luck. You could also call Sally's beuty supply and ask them.
Use Shaving cream.Let me know how it works for you.I myself find it has always worked.K.
I also dropped hair color on our silvery gray carpet a few years ago. I hate to tell you but nothing I tried would get it out completely, it's still there to this day as a reminder that if I am going to color my hair I better stay off the carpet altogether! The carpet now is 10 years old and needs to be replaced so I will finally get rid of the stain!
You might try a carpet cleaning business - ask them what they would recommend. They may be able to give you some advice, so whatever you use won't cause the stain to "bleed" and become bigger. But for all carpet stains I use SpotShot - it is amazing as to what it will remove.
Try spray and wash with resolve laundry pretreater. I don't know if it will work but I've used it for other things on the carpet and it has done wonderfully. T. M.
Hi A.,

Spot Shot took black permanent marker out of my beige carpet.
I dont know if it will work for hair color but try vinegar. My daughter spilled blue food coloring on our floor, then stepped in it! We had blue spots down every other step, which is beige carpet. I poured vinegar on them it it brought it up just fine. I dont know how old your stain is but its worth a try! The smell isnt that bad. I got the stain up then ust wetted the vinegar area with water and kept blotting it up. The vinegar odor was gone by that evening.

I use Shaklee's Nature Bright and Basic H 2. It has been successful with every stain both carpet and clothing. It is not sold in stores but you can find it at www.getcleangogren.us Best of all it's toxic free and biodegradable and perfectly safe for children.
Hope this helps.

A friend told me about this solution that she had found on the internet. Mix 2 parts DAWN to one part Hydrogen peroxide apply with a white rag, spray bottl or toothbrush, let set for a minute then rinse with a damp sponge. It will get out even old stains I tried it and it worked like a charm. R. M
