Yes, it works. I actually asked someone who sells new carpets. He came and did it cheap. You can call carpet stores and ask for their installers.
Has anybody ever had their carpet stretched in their house? The carpet in my home is about 2 years old and buckles in some areas. I've been told I can get it stretched and keep it for a while longer instead of replacing it. Any recommendations for a company who offers that service? Thanks!
Thank you very much for your help. Just FYI, we moved into this house 2 years ago and the prior owners had the carpet installed, so I don't know where it came from. Also, I think it's simply pretty cheap carpet, I don't think the fact that it needs stretching now has anything to do with the installation job itself. I have a company come out next week to fix it, can't wait to see the results!

If my carpet was only 2 years old and needed stretching, I'd call the company that installed it. That would make me really mad. Obviously, it wasn't properly stretched during installation. My carpet which is almost 9 years old just needed some stretching. I called a flooring company and they charged me $150 to stretch a hallway and master bedroom. The stretching job was minimal, but looks much better.
First, I'd try contacting whomever installed your carpet in the first place whether it's the builder or a carpet store and tell them it's buckling, you should not have buckles after only two years. I worked for Expo Design and was in the customer service department that handled issues such as these, it was installed incorrectly if it's buckling already. Ours is 7 years old and it's got one spot that needs re-streching it's a VERY high traffic area at the top of our stairs in totally understandable location.
For finding someone to do the work if the company that installed it won't help you out, although they really should, you can call carpet stores or some of carpet cleaners will also re-stretch. I know Baby Safe Carpet Cleaning in The Colony does.
